A LONGSWORD WASN’T ENOUGH, TRYING BROADSWORD AND GRENADES

Its day 5. I awoke at balls on day 1, and spent the dark getting to a house surrounded by craters. Shoring up my clothing against the cold and Zs, I left the house in the only direction I could, into the city because magic horde.

I found a car, went south through the unsually wide and empty streets of the city, and ended up in a mansion more besieged by vines and that plant anomalie than zoms. My car took damage to it gas line that I didnt notice, and I finally found a garage on day 3, and oc it didnt have a welder, but I steadily piled up my horde of loot, and now, finally, on Day 5 during the first liquid percipitation I got my wleder after a fight with a pack of 5 skeletal dogs and a shocker brute in which a molativ, a nail bat, and a s&w pea shooter. There was a hulk or the hallucination of 1, but it was either fake or distracted by an NPC south.

Tempted to base up down south only because I so rarely deal with the fauna of the game. Its always bees or Zs or ants.

Noteably its so cold out that I opted for a fur helm over better protection, and Ive spent most the game at deaths door or close enough to it.

Got back to one of my start up save(s)* on one of the older experimental builds that I’ve abandoned.

Found a Bank, Found a ambulance and got the stethoscope and proceeded to raid the bunker.

Don’t have any UPS (Yet) or any weapon to deal with the horde (Except for the Halligan Bar I spawned with) so, wish me luck!

Games I’ve Started to play but lost interest for some reason. Cough Cough Fallout 4 Cough Cough*

Broadcasting from the lab, a zombie scientist perfects the art of ambushing a survivor stepping through a door.

The zombie scientist opens its mouth and a beam shoots towards you! Your Night Vision mutation turns into High Night Vision!

…what it defines as an attack might need some work.

HA! Enjoy your useful mutation, Scrub!

Got out of the vault. Aside from the ninjitsu and krav maga books, no interesting loot. Some .223 ammo from the dead squad, no meat as it’s already on the rotting stage. I did notice a ladder leading further down, but I got the way is cut off message so I guess it’s not yet implemented.

Back to tunneling through a town. Two empty spider basements; in the sense that the zombies revived to the point of killing all the spiders before I did. On one basement contained a normal and heavy power armor helmet, and the other had a gun safe with ammo that would put the amount in gun basements to shame.

I just had my first real experience with Z-Levels

In a barracks portion of a science lab, and there was a zombie grenadier. Killing him caused all his explosives to go off, and the blast created a hole in the roof, which then became an actual hole in the ground in th Z-level right above the lab, which happened to be a swamp. As I was dissasembling a downed grenade hack, a giant frog fell through the hole, into the science lab, right next to me.

Yeah I love Z levels its truly awesome

looting the barracks

hear a noise in a side room

think it might be a bio-operator

turn on cloaking system CBM

open the door

another grenadier

kill him with one swing of my longswors

examine his body

he’s carrying a smoke rocket

pick it up

explosives are ticking down

start running out the door

close the door just as the explosives go off

I’m spared from the blast

I know the C4 takes longer to go off, so I wait a bit until sure enough, it explodes too

open the door

another hole in the Z-level above me

entire room is destroyed, all the furniture has been blown apart into damaged pieces, there’s 2 holes in the concrete wall closest to his corpse

mfw I nearly got blown to pieces for a smoke rocket

Shiny new rifle. Replaced the M4A1 for a M27 IAR. Lots more damage, reaching 200 on a crit/headshot.

Strawberries have grown, but not enough for a wooden keg full of strawberry surprise. I want to fill a keg first for display purposes, before setting a supply of it for drinking. Winter’s a week away, so I’ll have to wait before growing some more.

On the other hand, looking at things, fruit wine is somewhat easier to make, but less enjoyable.

Raided ANOTHER Bank, Here’s The Loot
Raided ANOTHER Bank, Here’s The Loot

Here’s what I’ve found in the only two banks I’ve seen in 58 days:

Bank 1

Nothing

Nothing

Nothing

Bank 2

Nothing

A bionic I already had and a bundle of money

Nothing

I wanna find a rivtech design binder. Need the recipes for the ammo, and when I find the battle rifle I shall rain hell upon the hordes.

I just really want to make atomic lamps.

Though looking at ammo, the .308 Winchester has better damage, though the 8x40 caseless has way better armor piercing capabilities.

Day 31 of spring.
The mutation roulette gave me Strong - more hp, more carry capacity and more dmg in melee are always welcome!

Since it was still morning, I decided to go scout to the east. Past the crates, past the gas station. I found a farm with some tools laying around (chainsaw, hoe), and an outlying shelter by the riverside. There seems to be a few houses even further east, hinting at a town. The shelter basement had two sewing kits, a pair of boots (fits) and a stack of batteries.

The shelter gets noted as a possible base - no Zs in daylight sight range and the riverside right outta the doors make it really nice, the downside is how far it is from the previous base. I still don’t have a welder to install stuff on my electric car, though.

Winter’s just a week away, and I’m more or less ready to craft a ton for the majority of it. I might use the time to do some exploring beyond the map, though. The Sluggernaut needs to get it’s wheels rolling, and with the winter weather I can harvest meat much more easily.

I may have to add some extra clothes to keep warm, in any case. One slight complaint I got with the Chesthole tileset is how some clothing sprites get layered. For example, I recall the jedi cloak’s sprite being rather small, and if it’s the outermost layer you can see the other clothing sprites stick out.

I have a problem with my world.

awoke, a drunken sod, to the sounds ofgunfire outside. The house was on fire. Pulling himself off the stained couch he had fallen unconcious upon, he swigged from his cheap win jug and grabbed the tight wool sweater that was on the floor in the corner.
-Outside, most of a sizable horde were following the sound of gunfire. Good riddance. Fusco shuffled from his isolated house to the on up the street. Being so isolated, it was easy to avoid most of the zombies as nothing was here. But that idiot must have riled the zombies up.
-Collecting clothing and other utility goods, Fusco only finds socks for his bare feet. Better than nothing. His first kill is a feral hunter whole jumped upon a patio chair to cut off his escape. Fusco lit it on fire and beat at it with his heavy stick.
-I begin taking notes, pictures. pic 00 is mappy. The southern @ is the spawn point, a rather pleasant house.
-I find a s&w 22a in a bathroom with 100 rounds. was being chased inside and freezng so I contemplated stayng.
-I head towards a house surrounded by craters. Its flanked by the river and has open field to the south. A spitter destroyed the 2 front windows, but Ive closed all the curtains and hid in the back bedroom after taking all the supplies Id want. There is a basement, but Im not 100% ready to tackle it without a light source. A torch when the sun comes up.
-It is 0547 when I begin to organize my loot for planning.
-I spend the whole day levelin up my sewing. The basement has 1 child, and its a reading room. I found under the hood, and some batteries.
-While walking around from house to house, I see a man off in the distance flaming the monsters. It doesnt look like hes aiming to survive.
-On the street, I found a car with its sidepaneling around the front wheels pulled away. It had keys in the ignition, so I hopped in and filled the tank with the 800 untis of gas I had.
-I drove south, the closest edge of the city I could see. Parking by the river, I check the car to find a flashlight in the glove box. Cha-ching.
-My head is fairly damaged, and Im tempted to try to sleep for health. Pic 02 is the status bar.
-I wake up to find my gas tank was leaking. >|:[ pic 03 gas leak
-Opening the car door on the side of the wolf, I capped it. I then walked directly east so the ant couldnt path around to me. Walking to the city maintainance center I saw several wolves.
-They were occupied with chasing squirrels and dogs. I lit a fire to throw off my scent some. I hope to find a working car there, and/or gas.
-I spend the day reading my mechanics to level 1 inside a house and sleeping. A hallucination woke me up and when I tried to leave a spitter was hangning out in the living room
-Ducking into and out of houses, I eventually find a beetle that isnt alarmed. I drive it off south once more. I have 8 registered kills, and a few more ones from fire damage on this, the third day.
-I loot a cathedral for nothing much, and explore for places to find mechanics tools. I find a car on a bridge and swap vehicles for the greater storage space.
-I go out looting in the night, manually exploring the unknown. I get a boxing gym, a liquor store, and several houses. Though I still dont have what I want. pic 04. I do have a glock in addition to my .22 and my crafted sling.
-I find several buildings in the city worth looting, albiet not in the day with a bloodied head. I survey the area and head south to find triffids and plant monsters. There is a mansion there with a plant anomalie in its center that prevented me from sleeping and killed several zombies who were also compelled to explore the noise.
-I awaken at night and head off. I need a new car or a welder. I have googles. pic 05 a map of the area south of the spawn point. it appears to be part of the same metropolis or close enough to count.
-It was very east, for the most part, to explore, as the roads were wide. Though it may be harder in the dark.
-pic 06 there is intense fighting in the fields south of the town.
-I then go to the hardware store somewhat inside the city. I kill several mutts, and lightning strikes just as Im climbing into the store, to my detriment.
-I find a joint hardware/garage. it has my welder, and a pack of 5 skeletal dogs and a shocker brute were in my way. I batted down the dogs, threw the molativ at the shocker, and pea-shooted him until he smacked me. I ultimately won.
-I have my welder, pic 08 is me taking off.
-I got my ass chucked into the water by a brute.
-Im exploring, theres no good place to set up. There’s the river stretching from west to south, the swamps south of that, the city stretches mishmash from north to east, and there’s no central access. I found a semi-decent lava shaft that could be used if I build my own house.
-

I cant find a place to set up shop. Im very picky about this stuff, and theres just so much in the way. Rivers, swamps, city, and forest, all come together to isolate the character. Id have no purpose. Maybe I should just make a mobile fortress?

I know how you feel. I want a base that has a number of factors going for it, location and accessibility being important on whether I wanna set up my base on a particular area. On my current run, my first base took about four days walking aimlessly into uncharted sections of the map, and my current one took a day’s worth of driving from the previous base.

Anyways, taking stock on raw meat products on my ice storage:

-583 tainted meat.
-156 tainted fat.
-73 fillets of fish.
-203 human flesh.
-9 large stomachs, need more.
-387 stomachs.
-99 chunks of fat.
-1226 chunks of meat.

May have more human flesh and tainted meat, as I haven’t looted the ice lab yet. Killed every creature on the lab, but the items remain untouched for most part.
