Picked ice lab start
Managed to get mostly comfortable temperature thanks to a lucky drop of dinosaur suit
Got too cocky and opened a door with a turret behind it, got burst down in one turn
Headed into town with 150 quality metal arrows.
Left 5 hours later after killing 60 spiders, 30 zombies and a hulk, with only 28 arrows remaining.
Time to make some new ones, I suppose.
I also spent the following day conjuring up another 150 arrows and spending the night trying to learn from a couple of children’s books… I’ll understand these words eventually, dammit!
Got a Triffid grove, and all three types of fungal areas to purge during my current exploration trip.
Aside from that, considering the possibility of crossing the elf-a threshold. Got fey nightsight and a couple of other mutations, but I’ve never really pushed farther than that because I didn’t really get a bad mutation. In particular, I think my very fast healer mutation will be removed and be replaced with weakening, I think, if I cross into elf-a, and so far my continued survival was thanks to go from near death to full hp with just some sleep.
If you can find some category-specific mutagen you could try screwing with those to play the system, if pushing towards the elf-a is too risky. o3o
I could just munch up some mutated arms and legs from ice labs. Tried that before, and mostly got some basic but handy mutations. That’s how I got fey vision and then nightsight, and very fast healer (from slow healer) from my current run.
Though once you mutate a good selection of traits in one category, that does add more risk of deviating towards that threshold just from generic mutagens, if I recall.
Hence the suggestion of specific mutagens that might pull you in a different direction to avoid the traits you might not want.
EDIT: Though if you pick a serum in a category that has a lot of traits overlap, you might still mess it up and mutate into a delicious elf despite this.
In any case, was smoking all the meat I got from the dead bodies in the mine. Got tired, went to sleep.
I forgot about the fact that there was once a fungal bloom in the area, and remnants of fungaloids and spore clouds turned the area into a scattered fungal ground.
sigh time to clean up.
You’re gonna need more gasoline, napalm, and/or dragonfire. owo
Got 20k units of napalm stored in my car for such occasions. If somehow I run out, I could just use my sword to start raining fire.
It’s like dakka. You’ll never have enough.
True. But the one good thing about fire is that one small fire can become one really big fire if positioned properly.
And as silly as it sounds, the UPS powered vibrator and its use had been very handy in clearing out a path for forests. Set forest on fire, use vibrator, go to sleep. Wake up, repeat process if there’s still areas on fire.
The power of incendiary masturbation, what the fuck. o3o
Literally incendiary masturbation

Then the next survivor through the area opens a door in a lab only to see a dead guy in a dinosaur suit… 0_0, probably slowly closes door and runs like hell.
Cataclysm survivors have found interesting ways to cope with their new lives.
Wel-timed to have that right after Kevin discussing turrets and their newfound hatred of furscalesuiters? o3o
Fencing is surprisingly handy when my survivor is busy doing things that doesn’t involve killing zombies. Picking up stuff, there’s a giant bee and a scarred zombie going after me. I keep on picking up stuff, and I end up countering and killing the two.
Would rather be fencing with a zweihander though. o3o
Shit’s happenning. Did I think or say the RNG had been merciful to me (an almost intact armoured car, a rifle and a pile of ammo)? Forget that. Lookie here:
And that’s just like 1/4 of the whole mob.
Pretty sure I didn’t enable wandering spawns.
Lovely:
I had to make perhaps a dozen of ‘swipes’ back and forth and still there were survivors.
Speaking of survivors. I had met three of survivor zombies in one of the basements before the ride. Tough luck, R700 is not the best thing for CQC. Nice addition anyway.
Always entertaining to run down a zombie horde though. o3o
