Yeah. It wasn’t unfair obviously-I just confused something. What about a craftable radio/radar thingy that runs on batteries/ups/comes in form of bionic that senses high electro magnetic activities and beebs when shokers, consoles and robots are around? Just a little idea on the side note.
Back on topic: my survivor is doing good again and explores a nearby lab. There are some bionics I don’t even know and I’m installing all of them.

I’m leaning toward no on that one. The laser dots are there specifically because the higher-powered guns can shoot at you from extreme range, and it’s fairly reasonable not to notice the turret or bot. As you experienced, the lower-powered turrets are quite easy to spot before you get in range, so you’re not going to wander into their range by accident, which you did not do, you wandered into range because you misremembered a bit of game errata.[/quote]
I just wish there was some way of knowing a turret was about to tear through my hard-steel plating MBR vest in one burst because I opened the wrong door in a science lab BEFORE it killed me, preferably without having to turn off my flashlight before I open every door.
After a few weeks or so, I’m back to playing Cata:DDA! Already, I have created the most badass tailor in existence, and have yet to die from surprise chicken walkers/tank drones. Yay! Although, I did have to sacrifice a goat to the RNG gods, just to be sure I didn’t provoke their wrath.
So, I realized I inadvertently created an awesome new starting situation. When I locked up the gun stores with metal doors and barred windows, it made them pretty much impregnable, right? I realized you could start inside them with the Missed scenario. You’ll be trapped inside and have to get around the hordes of zombies, but you’ve also got guns to start and relative safety. You can fashion a makeshift pick lock to get out, but it may take a while.
Personally, I think I’m gonna roll a nice Industrial Cyborg and see how it works out.

Yup. It’ll be a shame when she inevitably dies. Also, I lost my Mycus Bloom mutation, so that sucks.

Since my last char died in an explosion, I started a new one. Sheltered survivor. Winter in the middle of nowhere.
A flaming eye is cutting rows of trees down outside and the npc fights against slimes. I, freezing to death, smashed 3 of the 4 bed tiles in the shelter for rags and threads. Survival and tailoring are at 3 after crafting and reinforcing clothing and searching in the underbush. The shelter was almost empty. Almost no food. No tools and 1 fabrication book + a few bullets of .223.
Finally crafted my sling + knife spear. I killed a manhack and two scientists. The corpses around were only good for rags. There’s a power plant nearby that I will scout now.
I hope this survivor will have the homemade railgun someday…
