What's Happening in YOUR Randomly-generated Apocalypse?

Little story, going around outskirts of town with my shopping cart, got a teleporter just as an “oh shit” button. Mistake a shocker brute for a zombie scientist, freak out when I realise it is a shocker brute not a scientist. So I figure, now is a good time to use the teleporter right? Yeah I use it and try to make a run for it but shocker brute is faster than me, use teleporter again, teleport INSIDE the shocker brute and it explodes in a 7x7 tile radius of blood and gore. Can we have a weaponized teleporter?

Visualize Scientist NPC killing survivor through teleporting inside one

Please, no. T_T

Maybe a weapon that teleported safely something some squares away? Plutonium-charged, slow, created with available teleporter technology? Also, i THINK that telepads in labs can be disarmed and taken away

yes teleport pads can be disarmed and placed anywhere but they are more like good forcefield what defend from most mele fighing hostilles i used it few times to fight unkillable army of bloob (infinite health, only telefrag work)

Sounds pretty weaponized to me already. If you mean targeting a mob and having it hit most of the time, that would be crazy OP.

I initially said that jokingly but seeing as the teleporter tech is pretty… commonplace? in labs, what about some experimental teleporter/projectile weapons, could have some funky mechanics such as only requiring vision of the enemy not line of sight. Could be some interesting combinations with stuff like thermal vision. All this is assuming that lore-wise the teleportation tech is far enough along for all that weaponizing goodness that government scientists love to do.

No. The dancers BECOME hulks.[/quote]

Wait so is it safer to fight them as Dancers or as Hulks? Because I don’t see how anything could be much more dangerous than getting ganked by a dozen Hulks.

As hulks. The dancers are near impossible to kill, and they regenerate faster than shoggoths.

Started playing Cata again after a while of not playing it.
Sheltered survivor start, Rivtech Automagnum and 50 8x40 bullets for it in my starter LMOE, not bad. Fungus stuff nearby and already starting down the Mycus path.

I just drove through a minefield. Without my mine-clearing device slash ram. Luckily, I have about 12 spare tires and none of my quantum solar panels were lost.

The thing about unkillable regenerating enemies, is that if you’re armored enough that they can’t kill you either, you can use them to safely grind your dodge and melee skills.

SO I’ve been going around proving the immense over-powered-ness of manhack swarms. Figured it would be fun to craft up ten or twenty and throw them into the middle of a large city. I keep losing track of them, but I can tell where they’ve been by following the trail of corpses. >_> Anyway, they may have been nerfed by now. The build I’m using is a week old, after all. But for now, they’re horde-killing, hulk-grinding monsters.

Also, I found a slime pit and clearing it out. Again, the !DRONE! swarm is helping immensely.

Start new game, Loot Basement, Craft Nailboard, Go Outside.

“Hey their is blood out their already, wonder what caused it.”

Take one step out door, Game freezes, Thousands of bullets riddle my character, Dead.

Found a road barricade with a tank bot right outside the Evac Shelter.

I died in a similar way earlier. But instead it was a few in-game days in, when I was just about to finish clearing out a city.

That’s why hulks have the fling attack… oops, forgot to give it to dancers. Will fix.

Ahahaha xD

Well the only thriller i ever saw … i ignored cause i thoughed my chara would be halucinating.

Thats why I always peek out between the curtains on the windows before ever opening the first door

…I also play with classic zombies… but that shouldnt matter, if theres an enormous hord outside for no reason ill safely know there is.

Depends on how much teleglow you get. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’m visualizing something like the Translocator from UT, that places a beacon you can teleport to later. If something is standing on the beacon when you teleport, well, that sucks for it. If something damages the beacon and then you try to teleport, well, I hope you didn’t like having all your atoms in one zip code.

Nope. Labs might have been able to aim and stabilize a portal, but that would take enough machinery that the only way to make it “mobile” would be to build it into an aircraft carrier. Teleportation that’s person-portable is pretty inaccurate and short-ranged.

New Char, started as a bionic patient with the abandoned challenge fought my way out with a scalpel and now lost in a lab eating arms/legs and fetus(plural) drinking whatever clean water I can find.

  1. I just discovered that driving through a field of giant ants is the most satisfying shit ever.
  2. A zombie brute just punched me, sending me flying. I took 3 damage after flying ten blocks.
