Started with a 15 intelligence asthmatic in the really bad day scenario. Lucked out to spawn close enough to a combat capable NPC and now I have a street samurai as a bodyguard.
(The character is dead now, but here’s a post-humous story of a quest that was eventually failed due to the death of the quest giver)
I got given a quest by an NPC to access a computer at a house and download a file or ten onto a USB drive, I arrive at targeted house, according to my map, to find that most of the windows have a dresser directly behind them (from the outside looking in.) and that the door is locked. So I resort to using my makeshift crowbar to “stealthily” enter after having broken my last improvised lockpick. Scour the entire house’s first floor and didn’t find so much as a broken monitor. Went upstairs and in the Attic/2nd floor was a HUGE cache of military grade loot. From light amplifiers to bullet casings the previous house owner was all but armed to the teeth to hold out for rescue… but still no got danged monitor to speak of.
After a second attempt to locate the target computer, the quest giver dies and the quest failed as a result. That said, I did manage to take all the weapons from that house and place it inside the evac center I had been using as a temporary home base.

Well not that cataclysm like, but it certainly has an implied pandemic, angry killer bots, future munitions, CBMs and weird electricity/flaming swords!.[/quote]
Mmmm I’d forgotten about that short, it’s soooo good.
Lucked into a hunting rifle and a fistful of rounds, it was enough for my newest character to blow a roadblock and find a near mint condition truck trailer. Now I just have to transform it into a rolling workshop so I can start welding together small scale assault suits.
Lachlan, the NPC katana waver that saved me during the start of the very bad day scenario is still alive, but not really doing so well. I’ve got them guarding my shooting-range turned hold-out bunker whilest doing the leg work myself. I’m absolutely determined not to let them die.
Found a lovely pile of bionics in some wreckage. Fucked one up. Tried to remove it. Turns out 4 full bars of health isn’t enough.
when i failed J-9 without character backup i created new character now i am siting near fire reading books smooking weed injecting andrenaline and drinking atomic cofee
I breached into the military bunker and nicked a dozen of manhacks, two turrets and a load of ammo. Released the manhacks in the small town nearby, having set the turrets at choke points before. Now there are friendly manhacks fighting zombies, hostile manhacks fighting friendly manhacks (with little success); zombies keep reviving of course. I think they have reached equilibrium—no side has won yet and there are no signs it would change any time soon.
I got 500,000 bionic power finally.
Where can you get the other Marloss things? I feel like Marloss Man Reborn should have all three traits, given his name.
These non-teleporting NPCs are great!

HOARD ALL THE PEEPS!
On an unrelated note it’s currently so hot in the latest experimental I’m starting to see things–even being completely naked brings zero relief. ((Save comic relief))
If water actually cooled you down I’d fortify the local pool.
Started in Shelter as a Scoundrel, go down stairs, LAVA ALL OVER MY LEGS, teleport because fuck that start, have to make a slope back up to get to the surface, LANDMINE TO FACE, use Granade to try and fix myself, BEES, 450 PAIN, MY JOINTS DON’T DO SHIT TO HELP THE PAIN, WHYYYYYY?!
Wait a sec…does staying awake for weeks on end via atomic coffee make you overheat? Cause if so, I dun’ goofed.
I think coffee does. Or just stimulants in general.
Also, you’re addicted now.
well drinking everyday 250 ml of atomic coffe is enought to stay awake without getting adiction
My game started lagging uncontrollably while I was playing, only allowing me to move once every 20 seconds.
Once I managed to get back to my house, I found an NPC looting my house, was friendly to him, then shot him twice with my LACP+++. I’m not quite sure what he wanted with those 22 dust masks…

Does killing NPCs still send all your morale down the drain?

Rivet had a problem with her char overheating uncontrollably several months ago; that char had been updated through several versions so the theory was that it was a cumulative updating issue.
