I just failed the installation of a CBM and my Perceptive turned into Very Perceptive.
I don’t even know.

“Ah HA! I see what I did wrong now, suddenly everything is much clearer!”[/quote]Well, actually that really does make sense.
Found a lab and went inside. Got instant frostbite.
Tried again turning on internal climate control.
Instant Frostbite.
Tried again with climate control and fur clothing.
Instant Frostbite.
Tried again with climate control, fur clothing, and a fur sleeping bag on.
Instant frostbite.
Peeked at temperature inside lab.
4F.
On the other hand, one of the books nearby taught me recipes for diamond stuff. Just need to find a CVD machine or whatever that is.

That CVD machine is likely in that labs special area, likely to be deeper down the lab where it gets even colder, good luck not turning into an ice cube!

So I’m driving around in my car after a nice looting run at night. Now, I pass through a part of town that isn’t cleared out yet and not explored, so I have no idea what I’m getting in to only that it was the fastest way.
Cue car getting blow up by a minefield in the middle of an intersection, awakening every damn zombie in town. Miraculously, I survived due to my heavy survivor armor that I’ve finally decided to wear that night because I accidentally made it. : on every limb. Ducked into a house to quick use some health kits and hemostatic powder to stop the bleeding, then had to run home.
It’s not an experimental, it’s 0.A. The latest stable release.
Then Ice labs must of gotten colder.
I want regular labs, man. I thought ice labs were gonna be a rare thing.
So about that CVD machine, I ran into a random NPC who was then mauled to death by a coyote and never retaliated for some reason.
Lo and behold, I check his corpse and there’s a CVD machine. Immediately ran back and made myself a diamond katana.
Description says it isn’t supposed to exist though, so it’s probably a bug.
Nothing spectacular here, just carving a little spot for myself in this world. Even just playing a game can tranquilize you
I’m currently using a basement I found in a somewhat isolated house as a temporary outpost. It had two beds in it, separated by a few rows of shelves that are stocked with canned food and two first aid kits! So I might as well do some reading here until I can go out for a nice night raid.
I’m afraid that a zombear party will pay you a visit, so don’t be deceived by this tranquility. 3:
It may be just me, but the barrier between the early to mid-game is pretty much single-handedly gated by the hacksaw. Without the hacksaw, pretty much the entire upper tier of items you can craft is locked away from you. No vehicle crafting, either. It seems odd that there haven’t been alternatives implemented, when pretty much every other tool is craftable or otherwise easily obtainable. You can’t even craft it, because the recipe for a hacksaw requires a forge setup, which requires a hacksaw to make in the first place. Aren’t there any other tools that can take the place of a hacksaw, even if it’s just to allow you to set up the forge system?
Canny/mutie just hit be the jackpot for vehicles not one but 2 yes TWO armoured cars together on one bridge in pretty good shape, time to modify shitty bicycle/elec motorcycle with them, the only that could have been better is finding a RV in good nick as well.
This is year 3 for this char (admittedly most of that was spent sleeping after devouring a couple NPCs usually one after the other, with a keg of water to wash them down with).
Dunno, but the circular logic is present in a few other spots - sheet of metal, for instance, requires a forge and it itself a component in a forge.
No, you can make that with a regular welder.
It just stands out because it’s probably the most useful tool, but seems to spawn far too rarely. Hammers and axes and screwdrivers and even a welder can be made with common materials, and a wrench is a pretty common drop, but I’ve cleared out entire cities without seeing a hacksaw, even in places like garages and hardware stores. Maybe there should be an option to make a crude hacksaw with a welder, or something.
A makeshift hacksaw is a good idea.
Back to topic: Loot piñata strike one. I killed my first zombie soldier in this game and here’s what I got:
[ul][li]shredded MOLLE pack[/li]
[li]shredded drop pouches (fits)[/li]
[li]briefcase[/li]
[li]SIG Mosquito[/li]
[li]knee pads[/li]
[li]some ammo[/li][/ul]
… and some stuff I deem useless (another backpack and a dynamite) which I left.
60 + 30 + 18 storage = 108. Just from this. Granted, I have a leather backpack (40 storage) so it’s an upgrade of 68, but still, a LOT. Must have been one looting-oriented zombie soldier.
