It IS a bit silly that toxic waste dumps just contain sewage.

Drinking sewage in real life will also give you super powers, for all those who wondered.

it’s not just silly, it defies logic and is kinda… well… is the insinuation there that the world of cataclysm dda is so heavily radiated that what would be detected as safe background radiation there would be detected as highly radioactive in real life?
because, if not, it seems a bit weird as the implication of radioactive sewage is that EVERYTHING was heavily dosed with radiation, the entire food production, storage, supply, processing, the works and i mean to insane levels.

either cataclysm is a world several orders of magnitude more highly radioactive than reality or something is very wrong.

just to expand on my point here, sewage treatment is a thing in cataclysm, it clearly has no ability to purge radiation from the sewage in any capacity at all though, do they even try?

I got the impression that it was something of a recent development. The agency running the hazardous waste sarcophagus facilities were under investigation when SHTF and there have been recent nuclear strikes launched by the govenment and potentially foreign powers.

Well…each mutagen is a different color. cephalopod for example is ink black. I live in a sewer and its never mutated me. not yet anyway.

Started a new Librarian Character. Lorna Reed. Her chances are not good. Low Attributes and Skills. But a fast learner.

Mel wasn’t sure what was going on, after the world had gone mad she’d fled the hospital that had been her enforced home for so long. She had returned to try and secure some of the much needed medical supplies necessary to keep her frail body healthy. Despite everything, things had been going well. Before being interred, Mel had been a keen martial artist and her remembered skills had served her well in the past fortnight. It was the return to the hospital were things had started to go wrong, the familiar halls had been reduced to ruin, death stalked the halls and the contingent of medical bots had malfunctioned in some manner. Merely approaching one had triggered the robot to send out mechanical tentacle that even her resurfaced skills hadn’t been enough to dodge, reflexively Mel had smashed her punch dagger into the machines sensory unit but was too slow to prevent herself from being injected with some unknown chemical. Soon enough the effects had taken hold and Mel found herself dizzy and paradoxically feeling both numb and afire with agony alike. She found herself stumbling into an office and quickly collapsed on the couch with no choice but to try and wait out the effects. Mel had promised herself long ago that she wouldn’t die here and she hoped this was a promise she would be able to keep.

Fricking medical bots almost killed me o.O I’m not even sure what happened, after getting injected a couple of times I ended up with painkiller 17 but my pain rating was topping 500 and I had 0 in every stat for a while. I’ve ended up hiding in a office to sleep off the effects. I slept all day and I’m still exhausted.

well this is the first time I’ve played the game with Aftershock installed. I was rather surprised at all of the new monsters and content. This little frail librarian has herself a laser rifle.

Well, I was on a meat run at the nearby ant mound and found the first other survivor. She had broken both of her arms fighting back giant ants, so no wonder she was grateful to me for showing up on saving her. After cutting my way back through the ants to escort her back to base, I put splints on her arms and gave her what she needed to recover…meanwhile my character seemed to have come down with a cold from running around in her underwear in the rain.

This is really the first time I’ve played a newer version of cataclysm in a bit. I’m surprised at all the new content. Oh yeah, and I added animal print panties. Don’t ask why, I just felt it had to be done.
