That is strange it isnt in the game given “razorclaws” are basically mirelurks and would be BA to have said armor and water combat potential

I mean the federal gov is still a thing with the evac center quest chain so I don’t see why that wouldn’t be a thing when they make flying vehicles possible.

personally I’m not sure if it’s in the game already but if we had garden hoses similar to The Heavy cable but connecting two vehicles water / liquid between tanks/ z-levels it would be pretty rad

A new challenge start: “unsuspecting”. Or whatever. Basically, this, but instead of being told about the virus you just wake up one day and all the people inside (except you, obviously), are now not quite what they used to be. Oh, and the apartment is in the center of big building teeming with zombies, too.

Trait= Soft Teeth: -1
You find any food hard/crunchy difficult to eat and get a morale debuff when consuming.

just don’t think Too Much about it the black helicopters man
and the government they are hiding the location of the real Elvis Presley I saw aliens I swear men but the government people kidnapped him and took him to Underground laboratories with their Black helicopters and we are just living in a computer the government is sucking Out All our brain juice that they are using to fly to Mars

Boots in lower than pristine condition should count for 1/10th of their base warmth while walking through snow (and for some dozens or hundreds of turns after that).

Not sure if it’s already in the game, but could see a backpack like item loaded with 1 or 2 swappable storage battery slots that would be connected to your character / act as a UPS station on the go similar to the solar power backpack.

Naturally there would be no storage but if given to an NPC /player with awesome augments they could go on a rampage before bringing it back to a base for recharging.

its a thought, but also, the big 40,000 storage batteries weigh 440 pounds, meaning roughly 11 pounds per 1000 battery… which an advanced UPS will already outstrip, and you could use a big backpack to hold batteries for a regular UPS

mabye a generator backpack? something that recharges all the cells inside your backpack/body/tools so that you can just keep going, so to speak?

The only point I was bringing it up is so one could use power armour/ other augments without injecting hundreds of batteries into your body when going out to deal with fungal Bloom’s or other large threats. ( I said 1 or 2 “battery slots” that could take any battery type but would change the weight)

i mean, seems like a better idea to take fireman gear with you when you’re fighting fungal anything, but i get the idea… i’d use it more for like, clearing out a mall. just wanted to point out that under any circumstances really, batteries are heavy as heck. the UPS can be modded to accept car batteries, otherwise the high capacity heavy batteries are the largest that’ll fit in em, but that still pales in comparison to the advanced UPS and any batteries you’d use that way… (but… y’know… plutonium’s hard to come by.)

Maybe that will also include things like bucklers/small shields to give a bonus to parrying or defending attacks with your offhand in conjunction with attacks?

It’s not easy, but definitely doable to attack with a two handed sword in a hallway. There are some techniques like half-swording or generally keeping to thrusts with longswords, but those techniques can’t really work with katanas as the sword is more like a two-handed saber with a curved point instead of a straight double-edged blade like a European longsword.
There are some techniques that you can use with a katana at grappling range regardless, like here.
But these techniques are more of iaijutsu (drawing the blade & making an attack at the same time)
Speaking of doing iaido, I remember in the old versions you could do it when you had a katana in your scabbard with high cutting/melee stats, but I don’t see that happening now, unless it’s specifically tied to using Niten only (since i’ve been using the sword without a style).

At least in my case I can imagine half-swording in a narrow hallway, but I can easily do full strength downward slashes with my sword (40 inches, 101.6 cm total) in my own hallway (8 feet tall, 40 inches wide, or 2.4 meters tall, 101.6 cm wide) with a close grip or just being mindful of the ceiling by doing slashes and keeping my elbows in. Thrusts are just fine.

I recommend having the indoor penalties go lower with skill when it comes to longswords and such, as more experienced fighters would undoubtedly know how to generate force in their attacks with little wasted movement (doing overswings for power vs close, tight swings that use the torso and legs)

Spears and other long weapons should have penalties no matter what, no way you can fight with a 8 foot pike without bumping into the walls of a hallway, unless you have plenty of space behind you.

Pretty sure they already tried putting shields in the game but they were either overpowered or buggy as hell so they remove them and the ability to dual wield.

You’re not the only one to bring up the spear and shield combo to which most people would say the spear is op (because heaven forbid it was the best weapon in the medieval era for a reason).

It’s the reason why Lucerne hammer is my favorite weapon in the game. Wide sweep attack + reach.
I used reach since I could hold F and murder everything until I realized wide sweep cut down 3 enemies in front of your great for clearing out areas fast by holding W.

The bash + pierce damage is really nice too. Great modifiers on it so it basically is an all-rounder that can’t be stopped by armor.

Also, I know that shields were in the game but they acted like an encumbering piece of strapped clothing with great protection. I was thinking of the dual world mechanic tying into shields since it’s not a piece of clothing, at least not for bucklers since it won’t just be adding flat defense, but it would add some bonuses to your attacks as well since you can parry, attack with the shield, or make an attack while exposing as little as possible.

I’d love to see another tab in the crafting menu (maybe in the same asterisk tab) which lists all recipes that we can currently craft (from all categories).
Sometimes I cycle between tabs just to see what I’m able to craft with the items on the floor.

And what about a body inspection menu?
A menu that lists body parts with health, encumbrance, warmth, equipment…
Something like the Re-layer armor/clothing menu but with health information and even simpler.

creatures that where native to the area but where expridited by humans should slowly return after a few years like bison and tigers (with the amount of pet tigers in the us with now (un)dead owners you would expect a feral population to develop and spread very quickly.

pets in captivity don’t last very long unless reintroduced to the wild in very specific ways… they generally get used to being fed every day. a zoo is (assumedly) being designed by one of the content creators and he plans on introducing more animal varieties that way. this

I’d want to be able to throw items lying on the 9 spaces around the character (besides in the inventory) at a zombie. With some moves/time penalty, but without having to pick it up and then throw it.
