Vehicle Show and Tell

You should just need some sheet metal for the quarter panel, and a regular frame for the frame. I don’t know why it’s not listed. Even if you don’t have the tools, it’ll show it as an available object…
Listed but blends in real well, IIRC. I’ve mistaken it for part of an S panel once or twice.

So I found an APC and it ended up being pic related.
I have yet to test drive it, but I have to load the whole piles of shit sitting in my garage. A fucking metric asston of plating, heavy duty frames, etc.v
Also, noob question, does anyone know how to do the corner I’m missing on the left?
oh, and if you want an idea how it looks, just imagine an 80’s chevy suburban, with 6 31" armored wheels, covered in plating, with an M2 saying “hello” from the windshield.

…second time something like that popped up, I wonder if it got axed recently by accident?

Nah, it’s the first time I manage to actually build and finish a vehicle that is more than ripping the seats out of a car, replacing them with trunks and swapping the engine for a V8

Well, I think I am done for a bit. Found myself a 95% intact APC a while back and spent MANY weeks driving around acting like the borg. It has consumed 11 APCs, 6 humvees, 2 armored cars, and several other vehicles and constructions. I don’t think it even really counts as a vehicle anymore, but it does move, and can do so quite quickly at times.

Yes, zero doors and 100% armor coverage. That means entering and exiting is teleporter or probability travel only. No bears/moose/zombies sneaking in on me!
Spoiler for where minireactors were found:Minireactors were both found by disassembling plutonium generators at military outposts, took three of them to get two reactors, so not 100% chance to get them. Additionally, not all military outposts have the generators, I went through a fair number of them.

This is quite capable of simply ignoring smaller vehicles in its path, whole zombie hordes (look, speedbumps!) and a fair amount of forest. Cruising speed is 29mph, seems to minimize damage and can be done purely on electric. Maximum all-electric speed is 72mph, and can be kept up for longer than I care to measure.

Hah, no doors. I have never thought of that but it’s nice

My latest vehicle uses the same principle inverted:
No doors and no quarterpanels: cargo carriers all around so i can move in/out without slowing down, and zeds won’t smash the vehicle, just move through it.

I’m currently trying to plate the interior in superalloy, and get some turrets for it. This small vehicle is and does everything.

A question for those who’ve moved into mobile homes - how do you find stuff? Like with my stuff scattered over the floor of a building I can hit V then F and type in what I’m looking for and it’ll tell me the weasel oscillator is 9 steps NE. If it’s all piled in cargo carriers I can’t see it and can’t do that.

Simple orginization tactics :stuck_out_tongue:

Put all similar items in the same storage space. I keep all of my tools in the foodco kitchen buddy, my electronics under the bed, junk and raw materials goes in the left cargo space, random unsorted loot in the other cargo space, etc.

For my base, I use a simple system - the back three rows are my “Incoming loot” and I try to sort them out until it gets too much. Then I move collections of stuff forward into sorted out spaces. I also make heavy use of the filter feature in advanced inv management.

Organisation. Separating into “categories” and piling only stuff of one category in specific cargo spaces.
My categories are: Food, metal, clothes, electronics, tools, vehicular stuff, raw materials (stones, glass shards), chemicals, meds.

I am a bit paranoid though, as i always carry spare everything, and usually spares for the spares + the tools to make more. So i need lots of space.

this too. very useful

I have tools/books/ammo, ammo, ammo, ammo, cbms, cbms, 1x of all cbms found (for if somehow I die), food/more tools, weapons, more weapons, explosives, more explosives, nukes, misc loot X4, plus a bunch of the “unload unsorted” areas.

Or, yanno, just hit slash, then a, then slash again, then type the name of the thing you want. If you don’t find it move around a bit.

I’d show you the Bluesmobile, but apparently my character decided she was too OP and fired a plasma cannon at the ground when I told her to fire it at some road-blocking wreckage. Such is life in the Zone.

Use the label option on the storage spot square for the type of storage. The shortcut is a.

It may seem odd but when I store things in a new location/base I actually create a frame with storage containers for important things. I can then label them and move them around etc. (just don’t drag them over another pile and crush your stuff). If I want to empty it in a spot. I deconstruct the frame and container. Remember you can drag that container with 4 engines in it easier than you can try and lift 4 @ once.

Definitely this… I’d never find a damn thing otherwise, because I have hoarding problem.

Below is the “Camel” from Claire’s Nightmare.
Specs:
Power storage: 2.8 million
Clean water: ~180 gallons/2400 units
Gasoline & Diesel: ~60 gallons/160k units each

39 Solar panels (only regular - haven’t found recipes for the better ones)
1 mini-reactor
1 1-cyl engine to run alternators just in case
2 large electric motors
6 armored wheels
entirely covered with composite

The two notches in the left side allow me to pull a cart in there and stand on the cargo carrier to get access to 8 of the storage areas plus the cart.

It started life as a mobile meth lab. The square the cursor is on was the original driver’s seat.

My vehicle started as an electric car, but I soon discovered that the 3770 storage (default + 2 stow boards + swapped one trunk for a cargo carrier) I have is not enough for my needs. Fortunately I found a mobile meth lab in the next city. Drove it a bit further from the zeds so that I can work on it uninterrupted.

Time to perform an unholy merging!

Since my guys pretty solidly completish, I thought I would share. It’s… not small.

Yeah…
V12 8L gasoline engine
V6 8L Deisal engine those two are mostly used as backup power generators incase my storage is low from lots of traveling thinking of adding 2 more of each
7x Large electric engine, because this thing weighs 27MG

Still looking for a minireactor, but I have a full suit of reinforced upgraded solar panels, 7x11 = 77 of them. Some turrets, Welding, Kitchen, Chemistry, whatever I could find to mount, including dumb things like a clock and a atomic nightlight.

Full military composite armor, including a side plate of rams so that anything that tries to sneak up past my front gets cleaved.

Full row of 11 roller drums, kinda haphazardly mixed sizes but whatever, they do the job. Somewhere I also have like another 8 armoured wheels but I kinda lost track of them.

Inlaid mirrors from the new experimental, some security cameras, flood lights, 5 headlights for full 140 degree front view, recharge station with 10 recharging UPS, 55 galleon barrels partially filled with bleach, ammonia, salt water, gasoline and diesel.

A in progress organizational system, where front two rows have food on left metalic finished products on right, like guns and anvils. middle row having chemistry on left and intermediate products like heavy frames and lots of steel everything, then the back row having sewing and just leftover stuff on left and electronics on right.

The whole thing is fully roofed and walled with heavy duty everything.

Everybody install as many engines on your deathmobile as you can! Engine count might get changed soon!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
