Ah, nope. Never have. I tried doing them once, but a swarm of 70+ necromancers with brute and hulk escort swarmed the refugee center before I could do all their quests. Granted this was on my 25x spawn world, and I noped the fuck out of there without even bothering to try and save them.

I haven’t found a refugee center yet on this world either, but it’s one of my goals.

I play with 50X spawn rate and wander spawns, I hope I am able to do this missions…Ill report I have those problems as well.

I suppose the main problem with high spawn rate is that the vault won’t get any bigger, so the wanderers are pretty much packed in a tight space which doesn’t bode well at all for the NPCs in the area.

That’s probably an area that needs to be unaffected by spawn rate (like labs and mansions).

Yeah. Maybe add a new type of monster or two, to make the area more challenging without needing a large swarm of monsters.

^^ that. ^^

I dont mind labs packed with Zmen if turrets and patroling copbots.

Okay, I finally found a Refugee Center, and accepted the quest from the Old Guard representative. Except the quest location sent me back to the Representative to “Deal with the informant”.

There is no informant, and no way for me to do the questline for my first time. I guess the vault will remain permanently empty for me…

Are you sure the informant is not there? Did you talk to all npcs?

Spoiler:

The informant is one of the guards in the building, always the same one - talk to all the guards, it’s the one that actually gives you some options. You have to talk to him and get him to attack you, then you kill him and you’re good. It’s one of the easiest quests, because you really don’t have to go anywhere…

You can fail the speech check, though. If you do, you can try talking to him again, but repeated failures will slowly drop your relationship with the merchant's guild in the faction menu. Not sure if that happens too many times the guards will become hostile.

On the topic of the old guard quests - did the mission after you kill the bandit leader ever get changed? I remember the last time I got through that mission, and was accepted into the old guard, I got told to “meet with one of our agents by a gas station” and couldn’t figure out where to go from there.

That’s when the vault missions open up, I think. You don’t get a mission for finding the vault, you have to find it and encounter the NPCs down there for more missions. Also, it’s not a gas station, but a pump station.

There’s only one place the “pump station” can be found (though that whole little town can be spawned more than once), and there are “irradiated wanderers” in the area (which can also only be found there), so you’ll know it when you find it.
