Build 2914 Windows Console, Commit d59e03a
I’ve noticed that traps don’t seem to be triggering with nearly the frequency they should. I first noticed it when playing and baiting a monster across a Dissector four times with no effect. I decided to test it with a 6x12 field of traps consisting of:
1 row of pits
1 row of nailboard traps
1 row of glass pits
1 row of buried bear traps
1 row of spiked pits
1 row of crossbow traps
1 row of shotgun traps
3 rows of blade traps (3x3 square)
1 row of booby traps
1 row of buried landmines
I then spawned a mini-horde of 9 regular zombies on the opposite end of this field of mutilation and had them try to cross it. The result: 7 zombies crossed 12 rows of traps and triggered NONE of them. 1 zombie set off a nailboard trap and was mildly injured, and a different zombie got hit by a spinning blade for moderate damage. All nine survived and tried to eat my debug character.
I suspect this isn’t how traps are supposed to work, seeing as this makes them completely worthless for a player to use. Is the enemy trigger frequency set too low, or enemy evasion chance too high?
(Also, I attempted to have my character cross the field. In this case, the traps seemed to work normally and the character was mutilated and finally killed by the final row of landmines)
