Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

There used to be a big bad bug recently that totally screwed up aiming, making ranged weapons useless. Has this been fixed? I don’t think I see it on the open items list of the 0.d milestone, but I don’t know if it ever made that list.
It decreases your movement cost, if that’s what is asked about…

Normally one has 100 point to spend every turn. When you walk on flat smooth floor that costs 100, you spend 100. When you put on roller blades, it costs less than 100, so you have some to spare. Then you can have an extra move every few turns.
I meant what part of the item’s json data makes it act that way.\

Also say if I wanted to give the integrated toolset the ability to repair items like a soldering iron or welder (after all it can be used instead of both of those items in crafting recipes) what should I do, first thought says to add the thing from the soldering iron to the fake item which I believe gives the bionics its abilities?

It is not in the json, then. And I just discovered that you can sheath your knife in the roller blades!

What does the protective lenses bionic do? Eye protection? Doesn’t the anti-glare compensators do that already?

I always assumed it provided armor for the eye slot, but I’ve never seen the numbers…

The protective lenses add a shield over your eyes to protect from particles and whatnot, like when you get blinded from a hit or from boomer bile and I guess maybe even acid from a spitter.

The anti-glare compensators protect from light sources, like from flash bangs or a welding flame. The anti-glare I guess doesn’t actually protect the eyes from any physical objects.

At least that is the way I understand it, but I could be missing something.

looks like deoxy beat me to a reply, but it might still help so going to hit post anyway, hope that’s OK

Hm, protecting from boomer bile seems likely. Since I generally get my survivor to use a gas mask of some sort the moment I find one, I’d probably not notice the effects or need for the protective lenses if I went and installed it.

Ok so I tried copying and pasting the repair functionality from the soldering iron to the integrated toolset fake item and it “technically” works you can use the action menu for it however when attempting to do so it gives an error saying that the fake item has no charge. I also just checked but apparently the bionic no longer is usable in repairing firearms.

Figured out how to raise survival past 8: zlave making. You need several to get it up a percent, though.

Makes sense.

So, after kicking some shocker brute ass with my Remington, at the doors of my base, I managed to tame a cat with some food I found at the very beginning of the game. To top it, he was the one who lured the actual brute towards my base.

But all he does is follow me around, is there any way I can issue commands to him? Or naming it? A way to customize him?

Cats=meat shields that turn themselves into food.
Dogs=meat shields that fight back but still turn themselves into food.

Christ, as a cat owner, I simply can’t do that with it. :c

Well what did you expect from a house cat in the middle of an apocalypse.

Also what is prozac supposed to do it says that it is an antidepressant but when using it it literally does nothing.

Also, with regards to training survival skill by zlave making, I noticed that it also trains the first aid skill.

Some corpses, seems completely random, can be used as practice in zlave making over and over again, but it’s not infinite as after a while you get a message that the corpse has become pulped from all the attempts to make the zombie into a zlave.

Furthermore, cauterizing for fun which is available to Masochist trait and Cenobite mutation survivors seem to train the first aid skill.

So what exactly does prozac do?

According to the wiki, it cuts the hoarder morale debuff by half, and in general if total morale is negative it’ll reduce it by 25%.

Any reason why zed children suddenly began dropping disposable rocket launchers?

Not that I’m complaining, it just feels… off. I can understand a military wreckage, but a little zombie kid with a M72 strapped to his back is terrifying.

If only you could mod zombies to use weapons…

Ah so that’s what it meant by antidepressant it doesn’t give joy it just suppresses negative morale.

Yeah the wiki also says it can enhance the effects of other drugs, as well, but I haven’t used it yet. I was hoping it wasn’t like real life where it takes multiple weeks to actually start working.
