Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

Actually I just thought of another thing I could try to make. Homemade armor piercing rounds through the hardness of RAW (possibly already cut) diamonds. Also another weird idea of having a makeshift armor piercing round that uses density by means of having a steel jacketed gold bullet, except I just looked it up lead is more dense than gold so nevermind.

Anyone know whats up with clang?

not working, working? it wont make for me.

Are you hitting something made of metal? For me at least with yesterdays experimentals yes.

??

Clang is a program.
Im trying to create an exe of the game in linux.

The diamond launchers from BlazeMod seem to work that way, though it uses coal instead of diamonds. Way too OP for my tastes.

1: Is there an easy way to know if an item can be reinforced?

2: Is there a way to deconstruct car tyres for plastic chunks?

1: If it has a material it can generally be reinforced as long as you have the right tool and it makes sense Example a wood splinter can be reinforced if you have a repair kit, a scrap metal can be reinforced with any of the welder like tools and lastly a rag can be reinforced with any tailoring tool. You cannot however reinforce you aspirin.

2: deconstruct no, cut up maybe.

I have all of the vehicle related mods enabled on my save, how do I go about making automated turret controls? I have an A7 laser rifle that I would like to mount on the front of my souped up hippie van but I don’t know how to make it automatically fire at stuff

You need a turret chassis which you can craft, then you mount your a7 on the turret chassis. However I do not know what skills you need to craft it off the top of my head so maybe look at the recipe Jsons yourself.

Perfect, i can make those. Its Electronics 5 Mechanics 5 if anyone is wondering

Is there a quicker way to repeat construction projects. Tearing apart a lot of furniture and its so many button presses.

Just remember turrets cannot shoot something if you are in their line of fire.

Guys, could someone explain to me like, as you would to a retarded child, how I can get the latest experimental build/compile/whatever? Or at least a more recent one? I’ve asked before and been answered before but my damaged and/or overloaded brain could not process the answer.

Because I finally got my friend John to try the game out and the build he downloaded was almost unrecognizable to me in many ways (separate pools for attributes/skills/traits, what the $%^&*?) and seems radically different from the game I’m playing (one of the things I noticed was holy shit did Mi-Go get deadlier).

Oh, uh, I’m on Windows. (Whatever crazy mutant shit he was playing was on Mac. He also didn’t have a num-pad, so that meant he was pretty much fucked because not being able to do diagonal movement easily is fucking disastrous in cataclysm, esp. early on.)

I’m still on 0.C 3782–which is presumably 0.C Cooper stable, the one Kevin released way back in March of 2015. (I do want to…“close out my business” with the worlds I’ve built in this version of the game, but that’s neither here nor there.)

Go to this site http://en.cataclysmdda.com/ and on the right side of the site there are various other links. You will want to click on either windows console or graphical in the experimental list. The page it brings you to has the files with the one on the bottom being the latest. Then clock to download.

Actually go here https://github.com/remyroy/CDDA-Game-Launcher/releases and download cdda-launcher.exe

Its the easiest way to keep up to date with the game and transfers saves from update to update.

I agree with this more however do keep backups of mods you have downloaded. Had an issue earlier where when I updated it caused some of the mods I downloaded to delete themselves.

How many people actually find can sealers?

Got four so far.

Not quite related, but scalpels are surprisingly rare. Main reason to have those is for one of the outpost missions. In comparison, stethoscopes used to be rare but now they’re rather common. Not super common but easier to find than before.

Found some good armor from some of the zeds I’ve just killed (One of them being SWAT Armor) and I was wondering if there’s any other way to clean them instead of using the good ol’ “Washboard + Soap” method.

Thing is I have never found one. So here is me asking for where do I find one as being able to preserve food without needing salt, charcoal, glass jars and or vacuum dealers would be great.
