Survivor fireboots is an alternative for foot protection. Add survivor wetsuit gloves/fire gauntlets for hands if you’re fighting corrosive zombies unarmed.
Survivor wetsuit + 2 pairs of fire-resistant socks + rubber boots = acid is no longer a problem. Add a kevlar vest underneath and the jacket of your choice, and you should be in pretty good shape.
Have tried it but only managed to burn down the roof reveling it concrete floor or roof lol under it-it says flat roof when i point to tile .
Finished with breaking down wall to get dirt tile and make water well. Was in need cause there was almost no rain in summer in period i was running low and i hated to go in swamps to replenish it.
Again, on training close range fighting skills. To get them further up in levels, do I need to fight strong enemies, or hard to hit ones? The latter seems to be the case, since I managed to get it up from fighting ant larva, and encumbering the torso to lower hit chance seems to work. Not sure, so hoping that someone can confirm.
Yes, my understanding is low damage, low hit is best for training. I think if you can hit and not deal damage its better. But not sure. Lowering hit chance (via torso encumbrance) may be a way to increase max level reachable for that opponent. I didn’t respond before because Im not sure about these things.
So what is the best way to train archery and marksmanship?

I just tried and now the fire just burned what is on floor, but doesn’t even burn the floor. That’s strange.
8 survival plus 3 percent
It’s possible that an NPC trained you when you were at 7 survival plus 3 percent.
For marksmanship, distance. Distance and actually hitting the target. Basically, hit enemies at a decent range, once you get messages that you need to hit distant targets, then hit enemies from a few tiles past the range you used to shoot at.
So far, marksmanship seems to cap at level 20, where at that point you need hit things from 60 tiles away to reach level 20. After that, you can’t raise marksmanship further since 60 tiles away is the farthest you can see in the game.
As for archery, it’s more or less just volume. Just keep shooting and hitting things, and it’ll go up. This applies to the other specific ranged skills. Unlike close-range skills, shooting does not seem to have a cap or limitations in getting skills up. All you need is a lot of ammo. Stuff like rifles and SMGs are rather easy due to burst fire, while stuff like launchers can be difficult to level up due to the rarity of ammo most of the time.

Cool although marksmanship for a long bow would be really hard as it is nearly impossible to hit stuff at longer ranges.
Trained mine with a Barrett with a rifle scope, since its bullets offered the least amount of dispersion. And even then it took several shots for a hit to connect at the farthest levels of marksmanship, so it would probably be real difficult with a bow.
Whats your dispersion on that barrett + Ammunition? My main issue with that is that it takes so long to get steadiness to full and despite being a master marksman with a gun that might have at most 30 dispersion only due to the ammo loaded you can only barely hit anything.
I just tried and now the fire just burned what is on floor, but doesn't even burn the floor. That's strange.Happened to me at first till i used a lot more two by fours when it began spreading but braziers contained it.The roof fell down but as you see no dirt tiles.
With mods, the rifle has 0 dispersion, and the bullet has 30. In general, you can usually get most rifles to 0 dispersion with the gun mods you can craft. That said, other guns have lower dispersion on their bullets, like .308 (15 dispersion).
Even then, hitting a target from so far away can be hard.
Best thing to do is find a stationary enemy, like a turret, then burn through ammo.
Furthermore, it’s a bit OP, but if you’ve got BlazeMod (I think that’s the mod that has it), craft either a scorpion ballista or a slingshot cannon - the ammo and those vehicle-mounted guns has zero dispersion, though for the slingshot cannon only its explosive canister ammo has zero dispersion. It can fire from 60 tiles away, so it’s a bit easier to score a shot with them, though making ammo can be time consuming.
You are correct it is indeed blaze mod. Also I know I basically took the flamethrower off of a bandit bulldozer in exchange for that mods essentially heavy sniper pneumatic rifle was as it was accurate, didn’t use the vehicle’s own fuel as ammo, said ammo was cheap, at least mostly silent and it doesn’t burn the loot so yeah a pretty good upgrade if your ask me.
Anyone know how to open electronic gun safes? (I assume smashing will never work!)
Electrohacks and finger hacks. Plus hacking and or electronics skills. I think smashing does work but you need something with a lot of bashing damage like a sledge hammer and or a mining capable tool.
Wow. Uh. Whatever floats your boat, man. Hey, I’m not judging.

Thanks!
EDIT: Any tips on killing a basement spider? It’s very bad at hitting me, but very good at dodging my level 3 unarmed skill (to say nothing of my 2 archery and 0 gun skills…).
I could run it over, but I don’t want to damage my precious Electric SUV!!

If you have a hard time hitting something use a weapon/item that has a decent to hit stat bout +2 or better yet +3 usually works. For unarmed weapons I don’t know by hand any weapons like that but at fabrication 3 you can make a quarter staff which has a +3 to hit and only need some wood and a cutting instrument.
Hadn’t played a new version of the game in a while - did grocery stores did nerfed? They don’t seem to have as much food as they used to. Same with vending machines (Though they could have insane amounts of food sometimes but still)
