Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

It’s been fixed in lasted exerimental.

Was the CVC machine and all the diamond weapons it could create removed? I haven’t been able to find one in ages, so i checked the debug out of curiosity to see if it even still existed, and I couldn’t find it, or any diamond weapons. If it was removed, what was the reasoning for it?

You examine the machine now. Recipes are removed because diamondness is now a flag that can be applied to many more weapons.

Really? that is interesting. Is there a centralized list somewhere in the code that lists every conceivable option? just out of curiosity.

No, they’re checked by properties right now.

Anything with 8+ cutting damage that is made of steel (has steel in materials), not diamonded and not specifically marked as non-diamondable is eligible.

Thanks, I guess i’ll have to go diamondize everything then.

Would an active chainsaw lajatang be eligible for diamond-ing? If so… yesssssss…

Now that I’ve got diesel production up and running, I’ve realized I need a source of ethanol. Despite my Cooking 9, I don’t know the recipe, and the books that have it are nowhere to be found. Do I automatically learn it at some level? Or is there another way to learn it?

Just the book, I think. Ethanol’s difficulty level is 5, so you should have more than enough skill to craft it, so you’ll just have to find the chemistry textbook for it.

Will battery in a car I own eventually run out? In real life it shouldn’t but don’t know what about CDDA

without an alternator yes.

if you run the lights, or radio without turning on the engine yes.

quite quickly too

but the dome lights will last for hours

If it’s in good condition (green or yellow) it won’t discharge on it’s own, but if it’s damaged beyond that or you’re running things in the car (like the lights, engine, stereo, etc.) it will drain itself reasonably quickly.

Just how much faster is a bandolier compared to normal inventory reloading? im finding it hard to justify the 3 encumbrance plus the belted layer penalties …

So I might have destroyed my vehicle, how do you replace wheels?

Car jack, 2-3 in the mechanic skill, tools, and a appropriate tire in good condition.

I was planning on removing the tire from the car I destroyed, is the process the same?

int dam = target->deal_damage( p, bp_torso, damage_instance( DT_ELECTRIC, rng( 5, 25 ) ) ).total_damage();

So, according to iuse.cpp, the tonfa and taser do 5 - 25 elec damage.

What was the multiplier for electronics again? Is it really worth carrying this large thing around?

Actually, if I could somehow have it stack the 5-25 on top of the regular melee damage Id be more than willing to use it, even at the absurd cost of 100 batteries per strike. Thats some good power damage for clutch hitting.

Talking about 14 base bashing on top of the 5-25 elec. add in some powerful strikes on top of that and your looking at good stuff. And then martial arts? yes please, add on a double battery capacity or a ups mod conversion and you have a hefty weapon for its size. With parry and rapid strike too.

Heh, Battle Blocks, just a tonfa with so many mods it becomes a block with tonfa stats. and a lot of electronics.

Is it no longer possible to craft most rivtech caseless ammo? Noticed that only one type of rivtech ammo is available in the crafting recipes of the rivtech design binder.
