Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

Electronic stores often have them, if there is no school, library or bookstore in your area.

Yeah, forgot to mention I’ve hit every school in a whole map region, and one in the next as well…

but HEY! I finally found one! Hit another large city, had two libraries several blocks apart, ran through at night… on 5x spawn after almost 3 years (in game), that’s a pretty nasty thing to do, but I FOUND ONE!

Congratz! I found broadsword but still find no Medieval Weaponsmith, after almost two years.

I must be the luckiest bastard on the planet, because I usually have every book in the game after 3 schools and a lab.

Built my first rolling base. Only goes 28 because of current experimental bugged when having multiple engines :frowning:

oh ? i thought they fixed not being able to turn on multiple engines ?
goddammit

with regards to the new harvesting:

“base_num”
“scale_num”

What do these numbers signify? can I make them fractional to specify a chance to get one?

finally, how do I actually harvest in-game?

How to disassemble ammunition?

The default key for disassembling items is an open bracket (Shift+9). Try pressing it and selecting the ammunition type you want to disassemble from your inventory. If you’re able to disassemble it it’ll prompt you whether you actually wanna do it and how long the process will take. If you need a special tool to do it, like a soldering iron, the game will let you know about it in the message log. Some items can only be disassembled by dropping them and (B)utchering them while standing on the same tile as they are, so be sure to try that as well.

Yeah, that seems like something that should be fixed
(B)utchering and (D)isasebling should be doable via inventory or standing atop. Having to drop something onto the ground so you can tear it apart doesn’t make much sense. Nor does picking something up just to tear it apart.

a hotkey-able Disassemble and a inventory Butcher option would make for more playable gui.

Yeah, usually, a couple of schools/mansions, a library or two, and a couple of labs, and I’m good. That’s why I thought this one was so crazy.

Yeah, there are a few such things in the game - happens over time, and is annoying, but also pretty low on the list of things that need to be fixed, I’d expect.

Underbarrel Laser Sight vs Rail Laser Sight.

Which is better? The statistics are vague. What do “Sight Dispersion” and “Aim Cost” actually mean? Are higher or lower numbers better?

aim time is the time it takes you to aim (careful/precise aim), lower is better
sight disp is the chance bullets go where you DONT aim, lower is better
raild and underbarrel sights are the same, just in diffrent slots, so say if you have an underbarrel nade launcher you wouldnt be able to use underbarrel laser, in general just stick to the rail laser sight since the rail area is mostly used for aiming mods while underbareel can be used for extra weapon mods

Isn’t there a bug currently that limits the effect of gunmods on guns? Something to do with ammo, I think.

So I started a game with wander spawn. I like it so far… adds a great amount of flavor to the game… i play as a Special Operator and after exploring the city, i realized that i lost my assaultrifle (pro soldier heh? ). I rolled back the log but no mentioning about it. Maybe Im a victim of a bug?

I would also apprecitate if someone would be kind to point me somewhere where i could learn about modifying json files

Hey, I’m driving a Main Battle Tank (Medium Tank) and I can’t turn all my engines on. Help?

If you go beyond your volume carry limit, the game will automatically drop items in order to make space for new ones. The system prioritizes items with larger volume over small ones, that way you drop the least amount of items possible. I’m assuming you weren’t wearing the rifle (strap attached), you were keeping it in your inventory. And since you were “exploring the city” I’m assuming you also grabbed some loot while you were at it. My conclusion is that while you were picking multiple items from a list to take with you, you dropped the rifle (among other things, potentially) in your tile without noticing you did. I suggest you backtrack and see if you can find it laying on the ground somewhere - most likely a green ‘(’ symbol if you’re using ASCII graphics.

Do check your person, though - I think Special Operators do have their weapon modified with a strap, so you might be wearing your rifle still.

I moded my gun with a shoulder strap, and as far as i remember i was "wearing it… anyway… now i have to rely on my kukri and M1911

The multiple-engine system isn’t working due to bug.
