em noob how do i scroll down on the ingredients list from crafting menu

Am I just thinking of Nethack or did picked-up arrows used to go back into your quiver automatically?

What determines skill xp for dodge? Once it hits around 6 I start getting the “This task is too simple” message no matter what hits me.

Most likely, it is the “to-hit” stat of the enemy you are fighting. Wasps and man-hacks seem to have pretty high to-hits, if you haven’t tried those already. Or krecks. Maybe spiders. I’ve never gotten my dodge skill that high before though, so I don’t know if any of that will work. There’s always Uncanny Dodge CBM to increase your ability to dodge beyond your current skill level.

I don’t get that … How did I managed to reach radiation level 369 (from my saved file) without noticing anything? Where can it comes from? Fighting a special zombie? Are rads tiles invisible and you end up doomed in all cases? I took iodine pills, one every 12 hours but ended up killed with 12+ mutations. Same for my favorite NPC.

I’m searching for some clues, are characters bound to die from mutations and radiations?

Use any artifacts? Go near a sewer treatment plant\waste disposal\sarcophagus? There are a ton of places that you can pick up radiation, but most of them are pretty remote.

wellllllllllllll

radiation is remote in the base game, but in some mods [cough] it gets markedly more common.

To fix in the latest versions, try taking gummy vitamins, try finding clay and boiling it or making clay mounds yourself. Use Prussian blues and use iodine tablets.

Yeah, I’m guessing you’re using PK mod. Lots of monsters are now not only radioactive but also irradiate areas, often heavily. Watch out for areas where all the grass is dead, make note of any locations where you fight any smoking or gaseous zombie, pop Prussian Blues and iodine like candy, never stay in one general area too long, pop an extra-battery mod on your Geiger counter, always wear a radiation badge…

This issue has been dogging me as well, but I’m starting to learn to adapt.

Its not too rough? Ive not yet encountered persistent radiation on the terrain …

Gummy vitamins
Aquarium Fertilizer
Clay
Boiled Clay
Prussian Blues
Iodine tabs

Radiation is very persistent. Due to the number of smoldering zombies I encounter in cities, when I park the Solar Roller near one, I never leave the vehicle without turning on my RM13 armor. My car is the only safe place.

What?? It’s everywhere! I can barely leave my base without my Geiger counter going crazy.

Ah, that’s your mod then. I guess I’m over my skill level here. I reset to 0 my rad level in the saved game, at 2 AM (in game). At 6 AM went moving a bit there and there around my safe house and went back to it at 7 AM. I’m now back to rad level 362 and basically doomed because it seems the iodine tablets are horse piss for what I have caught.
There are some demons around, but I never engage them. If they leave trails of rads, the mod is probably not playable for me, because the solution seems to stay away from any town where they dwell until you get advanced gear I never got.

Demons dont leave rads.

the mod is not unplayable. the radiation mechanic in the game was never really explored and so we’re all exploring it now.

The only thing I know of that will get you above 7 dodge is boomers spewing bile (and huge boomers, I assume, but haven’t tested). Also, they do little damage, seldom damage gear, and NEVER bite, so they are the perfect dodge partner.

Once you get one alone, turn on your MP3 player, eat some candy, and hold 5 until dodge is as high as you want to get it. I think they cap at 10.

Can someone specify on that? As in, “larger than volume 3”, maybe? Any other rules on that?

Added more rad removing.

Thanks PK, I appreciate your move. I’m admittedly new to CDDA so I would not dare say that your mod is not playable, I said it was over my skill level. My rad is most probably from rads scents of smokers zombies, as I accrued 362 rads in 3 in-game hours just by moving a bit around my safe house.

I’ll update and continue… One of the problem is that rads effects are devastating and very fast and if you don’t have before hands smth, you are doomed. I ate iodine tablets but it did not do anything in due time for my character.

And also smth very important to me who likes playing with NPC: NPCs don’t eat iodine tablets, even when put in their inventory, they complain they are rads diseased, but that’s it… IDK how you can work around this NPC limitation for now, is it possible to generate them with a trait rendering them immune to rads?

Use ‘I want you to use this item’ to get companions to take food and drugs or equip items

What if you want to hand them some ammunition for their weapon? I recently had to debug some crossbow bolts to an NPC because she gave them to me when I asked her for equipment and when I tried to give them back she wouldn’t take them because they did less damage than her crossbow., which wasn’t going to be doing any damage at all because she gave me all her damn bolts.

Lol that is rather funny.
