3 Minifridges is excessive.
I’ve found 0.8L one-stroke engines work great for stationary emplacements.

Yeah I suppose I could do with less fridges, but I really like to separate the foods into cold drinks / perishable ingredients / prepared foods.
EDIT: oh, another question. Is it any use putting anything larger than a motorbike alternator on said 0.8l engine, or does it not produce enough power for those anyways?
Is there an easy way to break walls? I want to access the police station closed rooms but my hacking sucks and the police bots scare me
A morningstar will break normal walls. A jackhammer will kill concrete. An acetylene torch will crack metal doors.
OK I give up, how do I change the key bindings in the latest experimental?
The homewrecker exists for this purpose
Thank you both piss and John!
Esc, 1
Ah thank you, can’t believe I didn’t try that first lol.
There are abandoned cars everywhere in Cataclysm. You might find a working car, and that working car can break walls down if you drive at a high enough speed. Watch out for the rubble, though. It’ll get absolutely everywhere once the walls come down and part of the roof collapses.

Is there any way to fix glass items?
What other item materials cannot be fixed currently?
I’m playing the experimental from 2 days ago.
Maybe duct tape/basic repair kit?
If not, glass is infinitely available by digging for sand in shallow water. Personally, I have never done that.
Nope. Basic repair kit can only fix bone, paper, chitin and wood. No glass. I wanted to fix the solar panels I scavenged, but it seems it’s impossible for now.
However, it seems that you can build an array for solar panels ( both normal and upgraded versions, but you can’t use reinforced ones or quantum panels ) with 12 panels, bunch of pipes, wires and some other stuff.
The thing is, array is still considered a glass-only object, meaning I can’t reinforce it.
In this experimental, you CANNOT repair vehicles up to dark green health anymore. Only light green. To get dark green, you have to reinforce them before installing. That’s why I asked that question.
My OCD won’t stand a single light green object on all dark green vehicle :<
EDIT: Spelling.
Is there a way to put an item you are wielding into your backpack instead of dropping it on the ground and picking it up?
You can’t put stuff in your backpack. A backpack is just another clothing item that increases carrying volume capacity. If you only get the option to drop your weapon then either you do not have enough free volume in your inventory…
or it’s too heavy, bringing you above safe carrying weight (into the red).
The former can only be fixed by wearing more items that increase volume capacity. The latter can be fixed (I think) by going into the game options and finding the option for picking up things despite going over safe weight. Be aware that carrying more than your allowed weight will slow your character down considerably. The option defaults to disallow for a reason.
EDIT: unrelated, but thanks for that tip about using a 0.8l engine for my refridgerators. Not only does it do it’s intended job, but it looks like it’s so quiet that you can’t even hear it from outside the vehicle (I don’t get the visual sound clues onscreen when I am standing outside my vehicle, contrary to the heavier engines.
Press w for wield, and select the item you’re currently wielding. It’ll place it back in your inventory, leaving your hands empty. If you have an applicable sheath or holster, it will prompt you for those as well.
Ok, another question. After I clean up a mansion will zombies still spawn?
Depends on your world settings. If you’re playing with default settings, then assuming you butcher or smash the corpses to prevent them from reviving, no further humanoid zombies will spawn, though zombie animals will continue to spawn occasionally.
If you have Wander Spawns enabled in your world options, then zombies will continue to spawn infinitely wherever there is noise (it’s more complicated than this, but that’s the gist of it). I don’t recommend having this enabled until you’re comfortable with the game and looking for a challenge.

Great! Than we’ve got ourselves a house people!
Edit: I got scared there for a while cause a zombie approached and attacked me, but it turns out I forgot to smash something cause it was naked.
Another question… is there a toilet in the mansion cause I can’t seem to find one and I don’t have any water.
I think so, but then again I remember most mansions I’ve come across having a pool, which I assume you wouldn’t have missed. There are probably several varieties, though if there ISN’T a bathroom, that’s probably an oversight.
Either way, you should be able to get around that problem by finding or making a funnel, activating it, and placing it on top of any liquid container. One funnel can give you more than enough water to survive on as long as it rains semi-regularly, just remember to clean it first.
You can make a makeshift funnel out of a few plastic bottles with a fabrication skill of 1.
mansions dont spawn hordes, nor new zombies explicitly.
zombies tend to spawn in every nook and cranny and can be easily missed, especially if they chase after something.
nearby locations might spawn hordes though
