it must be salt water? i think normal water is good too
hello i have a question about vehicle turrets. i’ve just updated the game (haven’t done this for awhile) and i was surprised to find out that every turret i have intalled on my car (AP rifle, shotgun, grenade) has 1 capacity (except .45 SMG turret that has 5) when previously i had them filled with bunch of ammo. so am i wrong or now you have to manually reload your turrets by pressing ‘r’ every single time and there’s no way to turn on ‘autofeeding system’ like it was before?
- Cheap wine is my favorite method. I don’t think it beats the acid + wood method above but you can still obtain substantial amounts of sugar if you collect all the cheap wine you come across. Check out liquor stores, bars… normal house kitchens have cheap wine too. Basements with pool tables and booze shelves. Grocery stores.
2. Start farming sugar beet (and become a proper Dwight Schrute). Although IIRC sugar beet to sugar is a two-stage process: sugar beet syrup → sugar. Might take time to get the sugar beet production up. Finding seeds might be the first obstacle (check gardening supply stores, large home improvement stores) but you should get additional seeds during the first harvest (and harvests after that of course). Edit: Scratch sugar beet. It’s actually the worst choice since it requires the syrup stage. Might as well farm any other fruit or berry, and use them directly.
- Collect ALL the fruit you come across, especially in the summer and fall. That’s when the fruit trees and berry bushes yield produce. Mark on the map all the berry bush groups you come across. I’ve seen like 20-bush concentrations a few times in the plains while driving.
I actually found the recipe, didnt know I could search for them. Although as usual thanks for the help guys. It seems cheap wine into sugar is awfully inefficient if the recipe is true (OR 14x cheap wine ). Farming takes waaaay to long for me ;), I like to be active in the game and just get things or craft them. Cant collect much fruit yet since its still spring.
Seems the acid+wood way is the quickest and probably best in bulk. How would I transform this water into acid water again? Pour a chemical in the tank so that the whole tank turns into weak acid water and then concentrate it?
Just FYI, cheap wines come in gallon jugs and contain 100 units = 7 batches per jug.

Yes, but I need 60 sugar. I was thinking filling a firetruck and then going from there. Perhaps wine will work though since I got a huge city nearby with 3 bars.
I could apparently also use sweet water and then boil it. There is a hive somewhere around here. Its amazing that there isnt a quicker recipe from honey to sugar, have to put it in clean water and then boil it first.
Hey, so does anyone know if the ‘covered well’ in campsites is usable? I’ve tried everything from examining it to looking through the construction menu to smacking it with a stick, but I can’t seem to figure it out.
Also, is it intentional that you can no longer apply or read wielded items anymore, in the latest experimental? I’m just starting with a total of 4 volume and apparently that makes it impossible to read a book or apply a digging stick.
nope, its an incomplete well.
ive had no issues applying items. ive not tried to read a wielded book
I tried smashing a covered well with my reinforced cestus 19 bash and 14 str…no damage.
Might have to try a sledgehammer later and see what happens.
Can’t deconstruct it or pry it open or continue construction…so why is it there?
You can continue the construction, I believe, under “Build Water Well”. With 8 construction, you can turn a pit into a covered well; with 5 construction, you can turn a covered well into a water pump. If it hasn’t been changed since last July, it should be “M” under the Constructions menu (accessed by pressing right.)

Anyway thanks for the help. I’ll see what I can do
Also despite me playing this game for over two years, I’ve never actually entered and cleared a necropolis before. Maybe something I should try and do if I get the chance.
Find a pump station, inside is a manhole behind a fence, go into the sewers, find the entrance to the vault (ussualy more than one, can take time to find it, cause its slow to move through sewers, enter vault, armory is on lvl 1, dont need to bother with lvl 2, cause on lvl 2 you can/may “accidentally” enter robotics bay and fight 4 chicken walkers at once (bad idea). I guess Vault=Necropolis, not sure why people call it like that, ingame its name is Vault. So far found 3 Vaults and two of them had some army type flamethrower. P.S. take jackhammer(!!) with max charges and hacksaw if you dont have int. toolset, be ready to face insane number of enemies (really way too many of them inside, you will kill 100 before you can say hi, just to clear a small part of vault and vault is quite large
Went to a pump station, I’m disappointed.
No vault entrance here.
At least there’s a Hell Castle nearby.
go into the sewers with a jackhammer. go towards the sound of noise. the entrace is a fenced up alcove on the side of the main sewer lines
I’ll see what I can do, even though I cheated and revealed the map to see if the vault really was there. It wasn’t.
However, I have a question, What’s the point of raiding a Hell Castle? Other than shits and giggles?
I grabbed one pair of space marine gloves but that’s about it.
theres a vast open basement and loot in one corner
ive added that to the coregame version last weekish. its just a placeholder, but the items inside include camo cloaks, teleorts, cbms, rare stims, military flamethrowers, etc
On a related subject, how do turrets and mounted guns handle it if you have multiple ammo types stored in them?

I guess…
You must have found an empty Pump Station, (some are like that, althou not many on my map, out of 4 i found one was empty) what you need to find is Pump Station next to Police Station in town that has Craters and Irradiated Wanderers.
This is how it looks, you wont need to jackhammer stones, there should be a clear pathway in sewers, you will need to cut metal bars or pry doors in sewers to reach entrance. Jackhammering will be usefull inside vault.
When u find a setup like this^^, you can be 100% sure there is a vault down there.
My game is a month or so old. I’ll go check it out if I get the chance to update it.
Also when I get the chance I’ll post pictures of my map
Is it possible to retroactively add a mod to a world? Or will I have to gen a new one?
Yes. You have to add the id of the mod you want to your world’s mods.json file. You can find the mod ids for each mod in the modinfo.json files found in each mod folder. If you use Microsoft notepad to edit, remember to NEVER save the file using save-as; it can corrupt the file.
Ah, alright. Thanks.

What are the differences between the three kinds of Irradiated Wanderer?
