Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

lol.

That doesnt answer the point that you wouldnt feel pain.

Conciousness is an illusion of course. Id argue that free will isn’t an illusion, but free will isnt conciousness, nor is it so abstract.

But the idea that we are snowflakes we need to be validated or rather that we need purpose and have likes is all society’s doing.

Now I wonder if you would even feel if your dna gets changed. It is common in fiction to indeed feel that. (and usually it causes horrible pain). But you rightly point out that there are no pain receptors in dna.

Re: consciousness
That is just what the NWO wants you to believe, wake up you sheeple! (j/k)

Consciousness is indeed strange, and the whole idea that we probably do not have consciousness or even free will, that it is all just a survival mechanism is also pretty strange. I also thought that the ‘we are special’ thing is very western. And that in more eastern societies there is a more communal view. (Otoh, I heard about research that says eastern societies are way more tribal, and way less altruistic and ‘do stuff for the good of society’. If you understand what I mean).

But a less individualistic society does explain why a lot of eastern mmo’s are different. (iirc western are more individualistic power fantasies, while eastern ones are more 'you are one cog, fight with these 99 cogs against the enemy 100 cogs).

You scrublords. Cata mutagen doesn t change your dna.
Get into the fluff!

Lab notes:

"The chemical department has come through with a stable mutagen cocktail. PE050 shows promise as an all-around genetic enhancement, with the worst side effect being digestive upset. The lack of macro-scale physical changes makes it ideal for both military and civilian applications."

Isn’t genetics dna?

You should talk with the lab guys about it. They must be spreading misinformation.

Genetic within that context refers to the general changes rather than an explicit restructuring of the genetic material. i.e. they werent being literal.

Like if I said I were starving. Im not, but I might feel exceptionally hungry. Which is a sensation anyway, and not a state of being.

Damaged dna can lead to mutations in genetics. Which can lead to our much beloved cancers. So in a round about way damaged dna can be very painful.

But changed dna might feel realy fluffy.

At any given point in the space-time continuum I am only 6 beers away from feeling fluffy. I imagine a lab experiment gone wrong can lead to extreme fluffyness.

Pro-tip: Just because there is a pile of gasoline next to a broken down rig covered in zeds doesn’t mean you should light it. Gas tank explodey can change dna.

i dont remember where i saw it but i think mutations are stored in your blob(with your blob i mean the blob on your body) but that dont makes sense as we can also get radiation-mutated

Well, if the changes SINCE the blob filled all the pores and cells of your body are recorded that should be pretty easy, although it would have to also keep track of WHERE those mutations take place since each cell & mitochondria etc… can have slightly differing DNA.

Then of coarse the Blob could also retroactively figure your DNA, potentially even before your birth? By looking at all the mutations in your DNA like our scientists can to map its history (though the further back you go the more samples you need, and the fuzzier (fluffier too?) the info you get becomes.

It should. I think royal jelly cures everything except mutations
It also doesn’t fix radiation, teleglow, “attention” (usually gotten from artifacts), “evil” disease (same), or bile (I think - never tested that one).

Radiation is the only common thing that royal jelly doesn’t fix.

Reading all this is making me dumber somehow, i guess you guys have an effect on my intelligence genes.

I’m suddenly puking grey goo and spasming…What did I do this time? All I can think of was the flaming eye that stared at me but that was a day ago.

You have a fungal infection, get some Antifungal Drugs (Or alternatively a Royal Jelly); Or your survivor is fucked.

That is what I was afraid of. Time to check the game…

Alright, its been a while.
So, how does stats through skills actually work?
Does starting skills matter at all?
Will it affect my displayed stats, or will it only affect things mechanically?

I think you still start at 4 for all stats, and then they build up from their based on levels gained in skills. Hence the name. I think its been balanced pretty hard but I don’t know what the results currently are, or if any work on it is even continuing. I think multi-pool had a positive effect…of some kind. Beyond that its beyond me :stuck_out_tongue:

Radiation makes the blobh panic. because it damages the body . And as the blob can t pinpoint the source it mutates you randomly as a countermeasure.
Basicly trying its luck. Therefor radiation induced mutations are also ofc random.

This actually sounds cool and pretty logical into the lore. I like that!
