I think waterproofing only works if it is on the outermost layer.
When you’re on fire, only outermost items can burn.[/quote]
Also aesthetics (tile-sets with sprites), and ease of finding where THAT DAM POS CANTEEN WENT >.< SDKFJASFDJF

Armor and clothing have resistance to cutting and bashing damage, but what about piercing?
Think penetration is stopped by cutting resistance. But not sure.
Ive been told its a combination of the two armors, cutting and bashing, that determines piercing resitance. But piercing damage tends to have, well, armor piercing effects too. I think its a flat ratio.
Is it intentional that in the latest experimantal you need 20 scrap AND 5 chunks of metal to make a lump of steel?
No idea. But as the latest experimentals have been #LetsMakeCDDATediusAgain I would not be surprised. I’ll go look.
(Just tried to heal my chars headwound only to discover cotton balls don’t heal anymore. So yeah, i’m salty).
Edit:
Seems like a bug. (esp when 20 scrap metals have a weight of 0.22 already and a lump weighs 2.2 kg). I’ll go take a look at which PR made a boo boo.
Edit2:
Can;t find the PR. Only a direct commit. Well here is the issue: Steel lumps recipe error, requires both chunks and scrap. Not either one of them. · Issue #17457 · CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA · GitHub
Thanks for confirming
Thanks for reporting!
Edit: I do find it weird that the creation of steel lumps recipe was changed, and also silently the creation of lumps of of 2 rebars was just dropped. (It was broken before btw, you make 1 rebar out of 3 scrap, and 2 rebar was one lump (compared to 12 scrap before the the change)). But now rebar just has less usage overal. (And the creation of lumps of steel is now also harder, only possible with a forge, not a welder etc).
Does anyone know if there is a way to take a part like a fuel filter off an engine to use it to mend another engine? Preferably without removing the engine from the vehicle?
Hello Schizophrenics!
Save your Thorozine for when you’re driving.
I’ve found that my Schizo is also Narcoleptic, and the last thing you want to do is suddenly fall asleep behind the wheel of a moving vehicle…
Think not yet, but I understood it is still a work of progress.
Can royal jelly cure a parasite infection?
It should. I think royal jelly cures everything except mutations (against mutations there is a better cure:

I’ve always imagined the feeling of taking a mutagenic purifier to have an extremely strong burning sensation throughout your body while the purifier removes your mutations.
makes sense. It hurts on a DNA level.
But pain is a perceptive experience. Mutations hurt because they trigger nerves.
What does mass-scal DNA conversion do?
hurts the DNA, the sole purpose, on an evolutionary viewpoint, of our existence. Additionally I imagine you would feel really… weird when every single nerve in your body is being changed on a DNA level. plus all the mitosis and such that must be going on.
On that point (DNA in all your cells) I’d like to point out that we now know that your DNA is not the same throughout your body. The nerve cells in your brain for example can vary wildy from the rest of your body and even each other.
