Funny you should mention that. Once, using wire frames (The cheapest frame for such endeavors) I set up a solar array outside the refugee center, loading it down with what solar panels I had. And I had quite a few. What you want to do is set the storage batteries to charge in the array THEN swap them for ones in your own vehicle.
Jumper cables are just an inefficient middleman in the equation.
I’ve done something quite similar, but that was back with batteries showed their level of charge, so you’d want to be careful about where you uninstalled batteries, where you reinstalled batteries, etc - basically, keeping up with charged/discharged stuff carefully.
(I’ve also made a 3x3 folding array that I carried with me for making a mobile camp that I could set up quickly - that was convenient! I think that’s back with the swappable battery CASE was still foldable, though, so that was helpful.)
i have realized a new method for getting a flashlight.
For a while now ivd been dumping my gallon wine into bottles and filling up on fuel and them destroying yellow gas tanks on large vehicles and smashing off security systems.
now, its dawned on me to target greyed out frames that have headlights on them.
This is viable since blindly running around naked in the dark without a weapons or skills is fatal. many, many wrecked cars have viable headlights.
so:
-start game in burning house
-smash chair - get 2x4
-check fridge fot bottles and glass
-smash fridge, take rubber hose
-take chunk of steel, or smash oven
-make nailboard or get pipe from display rack to make crowbar
-empty containers, run into the night away from civilization
-circle on back, find car/building to loot
-check car for viability, yellow parts, and now grey headlight frames
-siphon gas or climb in
im excited. you see i do this so much id feel dirty not taking a city start with a severe handicap.
I remember I used to do shower victims in shelters. prob is shelters are often too far from cities to walk naked in snowstorm.
Probably not? IG the offal is a grab bag of organ meats and entrails, meats I’d approach very differently IRL. I haven’t gotten anything from eating them yet, but that could be an effect of the carnivore trait. For now I’d assume it’s safe (Like eating a raw heart) rather than the risky endeavor chowing down on reams of fresh bowel would be.
I also don’t think the system currently takes the vitamins from the ingredients put into cooked food to decide what vitamins the cooked food gives you when eaten. I deduce this from the fact that when I make scrambled eggs from powdered eggs, it gives calcium, but when I use powdered eggs to make my patented deluxe rice and beans only diet no calcium is given. Maybe this is an isolated case though.
The problem here is the UI and component selection.
At the moment, the UI only tells items apart by their type and whether they’re on player or not. This is obviously not enough for when items start inheriting their vitamins, allergens and possibly other stats.
Filling the better part of a 55 gallon drum with spiced mead means I’m left with more yeast than I know what to do with! Looks like my NPCs will be receiving rations of bread and mead like proper vikings.
An npc that completely trusts me refused to eat marloss berries - i heard you can feed them mutagen now so why did he reject?
Well… i can always debug him into a fungus if i want, so he won’t die from my fungal blossom hitting him in the face.
Is there any way I can set certain items to be ignored, like rocks for example? The spam of all the rocks on the floor in my mined tunnels is a bit annoying.
Whence the small storage battery? Rechargeable battery mods have been rare enough I am loathe to disassemble the one I have. Medium storage batteries seem to require small ones for fabrication, and the recipe is not showing up in Under the Hood, Whats a Transistor, or Ham Radio Illustrated. I have a few mods like CDDA++ enabled on this game, but I didn’t think those would make the small storage battery and it’s recipe disappear. What am I missing?
You can disassemble a laptop to get two small storage batteries. This topic was discussed in The Garage twice; try searching for Small Storage Batteries? and small battery recipe.
Find wreck of vehicles that carry storage batteries. RVs, electric vehicles, ect. Dismantle the broken storage battery part and out pops a few medium storage batteries. dismantle these and then you have all the small storage batteries you want.
Well, the game reports any item you walk on, not just rocks. I assume you’d have to modify the source code itself and recompile the game to stop that message entirely. A simpler and cheat-ish way would be to modify the rocks to be weightless and volumeless and then add them to autopickup rules just to get them off the ground (and into your inventory). You would then occasionally dump the rocks somewhere out of the way. For great justice.
There might also be a way to edit the game files to have the mined rocks yield nothing at all (without recompiling the code).
A perfectly legit non-cheat way would be to dig an extra slot/niche/indentation in the mine corridor every 3 steps and instamove the rocks in them using the advanced inventory functions. Or you could mine an extra space like that every 20 or 30 steps, and you’d pick up and dump the rocks there manually.
Hell, you could drag a custom-made cart (or a shopping cart) while mining and drop the rocks in it. Not sure if you can mine while dragging something.
Brown means rotten I believe? If you’re not a saprovore that is.
Also, for long underground tunnels I just use a folding bike. Even one tile wide passages aren’t much of a problem.
If you want things a bit wider sonic resonate your way through the earth, drink booze to keep power up. A 55 gallon drum of spiced mead should be more than enough to tunnel from one lab finale to another.
If you want the rocks cleared away you could always use a vehicle scoop to suck them up.
