How to make the game look pretty at fullscreen 1920 1080 resolution?
Need some help with NPC’s:
- How do you improve relations/%chances in the chat menu?
- How do you prevent NPC’s from becoming hostile when they ask you to drop your weapon? (How long before you can pick your weapon back up, or is that weapon now gone?)
- It seems if you chat without success, the %'s go down, how do you get them back up to their normal levels? Just wait? How long does it take?
1: Quests for them, trading with them in their favor, over time I think it increase, I know that a new implimentation was them being happy with you if you kept them feed/unhurt/quenched. Food and drink needs are added for them, albiet at a very slow rate.
2: By not having a weapon in your hands when you talk to them or they talk to you. You might still have to navigate the persausion tree dialogue but meh.
For NPCs demanding you dorp your weapon you should follow their advice. They expect you to leave your weapon on the ground and gtfo. NPCs that ask you to stay still want you to, suprise, stay still while they rob you.
3: idk how long it takes, but 1 will work. So will improving your talky skills and poping intelligence increasing stimulants.
But honeslty, I carry a hand cannon or two on my ankles for suprise hulks and NPCs at all times. Often if Im feeling unsafe or sadistic I goad them into attacking me, or just care and run them down.
I occassionally travel with a companion, but they end up getting in the way as often as not, and considering them is a chore.

They don’t change their hostility status when you drop the weapon.
NPCs currently don’t understand you changing weapons, so you can pick it up as soon as you drop it.
Not having a weapon equipped while they talk to you can prevent some hostility, but cause other (because they aren’t scared of you and may consider you an easy target). -
Depends on chat type. Failing to ask for training or personal info is safe, most other options aren’t.
Is the katana still best weapon or the broadsword has taken the first place after the recent nerfs?
If you turn static spawns OFF, does the enable dynamic spawns?
I have hordes turned on, no Zs on the map, but I keep getting random spawns.
Has been going on for 3 in game months in the same place.
Thanks to those who replied. Another question, is there no way to switch a NPC’s boots/footwear? They just say “its too encumbering”
Depends what you’re cutting. Katana is better for small stuff, broadsword for medium and big. Against hulks, I’d rather use a halberd+car wreck than a sword.
Currently no non-cheaty way to give them very encumbering boots. If you’re fine with cheaty, there’s a debug menu force equip option.
stay still and draw sword or short shotgun when they get close
or be more cheaty and SUPRISE! instant raging fire on npc tile because you have flamethover cbm and he is next to you
I want to use a vacuum sealer without having to look for batteries. I have a truck with solar panels and storage batteries. I also installed a UPS-compatible charging station. How do I convert my battery-using vacuum sealer to have almost infinite rechargeable energy this way?
I assume this is the only renewable way of hunting and storing food since meat jerky requires salt, right?
Nevermind. It’s the dehydrator I’m thinking of.
Can someone explain the process of making bullets? I have plenty of ammo but I want to make it renewable.
Most bullets are no longer renewable in the experimentals since they rely on cotton gunpowder (the modern equivalent) and it’s crafting recipe has been removed from standard play. It’s recipe is available via mods however.
You can generally acquire modern gunpowder however by disassembling bullets you don’t need and exchanging them the reloaded versions of bullets you do need.
How to craft ammunition:
- Have all the right tools
- Have all the right ingredients
So, just like any craftable item.
That being said, the ingredients might be tricky to come by. You will also need to find the recipes. There is at least one book that contains dozens, if not all, ammo recipes. Some Fabrication skill is also needed. Loose gunpowder is a rare find, which is why you would normally take apart weak or odd bullets. For that purpose you require a tool called ‘kinetic bullet puller’. Having that tool in inventory or nearby, you just disassemble any unwanted bullets, just like you’d disassemble any item. I find it easier to just drop all the bullets on the ground and hit ‘B’ for butcher/disassemble, and select disassemble everything (not ‘once’, but ‘for as long as possible’)
The munitions generally require empty shell casings, primers, gunpowder and lead/copper tubing/solder/silver/gold… many metals will do but you do get plenty of lead from disassembled bullets. Note that primers are craftable.
Some huge sources of gunpowder: weak shotgun rounds, .50 cal rounds from vehicle turrets, landmines. Really just collect all ammo you come by, just for the gunpowder they contain.
Collect all copper tubing you come by as well. Many full metal jacket round recipes use them. Copper tubing is often found by disassembling fridges. Note that there’s two kinds of fridges - the household kitchen variety and then the grocery store variety. Check if laundry machines yield copper tubing.

you need ups conversion mod for it
Swamp provides infinite salt, so jerky is fully renewable.
Triffid queens provide infinite wood, so smoked meat is fully renewable (charcoal and skewers can both be made from bone as well, so it’s renewable that way, too).
But yes, making a FOODCO Kitchen Buddy (that has a dehydrator attached to the vehicle’s electrical system) is often the easiest is there’s no swamps nearby (then jerky is easiest).
aspic ftw
Anyone know whats up with the winch doors at firestations? I recently started playing again, and all the doors to the fire station will not open when you trying turning the winch

That is apparently a fairly recent bug in the experimental version. Obvious bugs like that are usually fixed pretty quickly.
Duh duh duh derpy derp. Can’t believe I forgot that one!

Which rounds should I make to get the most bang for my buck? I’ve been collecting all the ammo I have found, but not necessarily all the (empty) weapons that I found.
Also, what weapon can I get that uses energy, like from a UPS? Any craftable energy weapons in this game?
Gotta check your prefered skill, and examine rounds.
Raw damage is nice, accuracy is preferable, and of course proportions are important. Armor piercing and range if you plan to be doing dangerous things.
