In order (assuming I remember correctly):
Computer controlled full auto/burst fire
Computer controlled single fire
Manual full auto/burst fire
Manual single fire
Computer controlled we all know. Manual turrets AND computer-controlled turrets all try to fire at any manually designated target (if it’s in range), in the order they are in the list (which I believe is the order they were installed). Last I checked, if the target dies, there is some level of auto-targetting (never bothered to determine if the manual ones then auto-fire that round or only the computer controlled ones). Also, last I checked (and it may have changed), if there are no other targets, they all fire at that spot (useful for gibbing zombie corpses).
The exact behaviour is some of those cases has varied, so you may want to be careful until you are pretty sure what it will do. The interaction between turrets and a mounted weapon (like, say, an A7) seems to have been fairly straitforward for me, but it wouldn’t surprise me if that previous statement also applies there.
Older traits can be overwritten y new traits, but the game does not track the older traits. Instead it removes ‘tiers’ of the trait you have.
So gaining webbed fingers and then losing them and getting tentacle hands. The game wont remember the webbed hands if you drink purifier, but will instead look to remove one tier off of the tentacles.
I think so, you can chug purifier all the way until you get only your traits. That’s why if you go into debug mode and go into mutations, you have a big green T next to the traits you picked up at char gen
You have to do things that will push your skill. So doing anything that requires the same skill level that you are currently at. There is a chance for failure, so be careful not to over invest in any recipe you are not prepared to fail, including batch crafting, as its all or nothing.
^all of this applys to all crafting except mechanics.
Other exception activities (things that level skill without being current level dependent) are things like, survivals bush searching, and butchering, Mechanics lock-picking and crobar-ing.
Most any question of why doesn’t Cata have____? can be answered with one of the following:
(NOTE: I am saying this in approximation to how things work with our awesome devs. All "I"s that follow are not me "I"s but me speaking through the devs of tomorrow referring to themselves… if that makes sense.
Not YET it doesn’t, that is planned. At the rate this game is codded, it will probably be in sometime this, or next month.
Or
No, We don’t plan to do that. It is not the direction this game is going.
Or the most rare of all.
Oh. Never thought of that. Good idea though, will get that soon as I finish with this one. Should be done tomorrow.
So I’m having issues with my (vehicle) turret, it’s an M2 Browning which I think I wrenched off some tank somewhere, it’s mounted on the back of my truck thing on a turret chassis but I can’t make it fire independently, I have to fire it myself which isn’t really optimal, I’ve gotten this sort of setup to work fine before so I don’t really know why it’s not working, any ideas?
EDIT:It’s not on the turret list either, as far as the vehicle controls are concerned, it doesn’t exist.
EDIT EDIT:Never mind, I was stupid, it’s just a mounted gun rather then an actual turret turret, I 'spose the time I got it to work the M2 I found was an actual turret instead of the gun for some reason.

If I have time I dig a couple of dozen spiked pit traps in a checkerboard pattern. Moving between those as I attack cuts down on them attacking me and lets me attack with impunity. Just use a fast melee weapon so they can’t catch up to you while you are swinging.
I AM THE GOD OF HELLFIRE AND I BRING YOU… FIRE!
Forest fires are good. Just start one, let it grow a bit and then train the enemies through it. Also you can make a patch of flame with a flamethrower and do the same thing. I keep a couple of spraycan flamethrowers just for that reason. Don’t forget to hit " to run.
Edit: I have never tried both. But I will next time I get a chance. Does anybody know if spike pit traps burn?[/quote]
For the record spike traps do NOT burn. Even when filled with gasoline. Even when a fire is built on top, even while you gleefully dance around your burning/impaled victims bopping them on the head with a crowbar. So yea, fire + spike pit = awesome.
The easiest way is to store it in vehicles (though that’s more of an exploit than z-level storage).
Keeping it in lockers will make NPCs not see it until they come near it. They can be prevented from coming near with other furniture, for example bookcases (which can be dragged around).
A successful raid on a home improvement mega store has left an early character with loads of nails and a nail gun. So, with no skill in hand guns or archery but enough skill to craft a bow and some arrows which would be the better option, using the nail gun or making a bow and a bunch of arrows?
One concern I have is that I’m not sure how loud nail guns actually are in game and I want to avoid drawing too many zed with the noise of my ranged option.
I want to get a school bus as my main vehicle so I can hold onto more stuff and install more modules, but unfortunately it comes with a regular frame all around. Is there a benefit to replacing the regular frame to a heavy duty frame all around?
Haven’t played cata for a long time, is there a kind of end-game bow? IIRC compound and reflex recurve bows are the strongest right now but still i’d like to see some kind of high-tech military bow, like Predator Bow from Crysis 3, it’s year 2049 so could be a possibility.
predator bow from crysis 3 is just compound bow with realy high draw strength, nothing realy fancy only arrows are special
but some sort of bow what only post human survivor (mutation or bionic) or lucky granade user can draw is not bad idea
try placing heavy duty outside (outside sources of damage) and near wheels (land mines), rest can be normal or even light frame
Only if you ram stuff really hard. When colliding, the entire vehicle “shakes” which damages frames (and only frames). If a frame is destroyed that way, everything on that tile unmounts.
