You can also get copper wires by smashing (not disassembling) ovens. You can also look for broken consoles–the houses where there’s a hallway leading to a kitchen, a bedroom, and a living room have one in an offshoot of the bedroom. If you find an electronics store you could just go there and take apart everything you don’t want.
electronics store are The Place to go to get copper wire. but if you want to pursue a tech-friendly playthrough ypu should keep any electronics you come across, from toasters to tvs.
dissasemble the in a safe place for parts and recipesi
Are ALL labs ice/cold labs now? Or am I just having a run of poor luck. I’d say the last 10-15 labs I’ve checked across 2-3 different runs have all been ice. Prior to that I’ve always encountered a good mix - but the random in this game often swings wildly for me. Does season have anything to do with it? It’s only autumn in this run but in my last run or two I didn’t get to any labs til there was snow on the ground. (playing recent experimental, probably only a couple days from the very latest)
Another slightly odd thing in more recent builds is that most lab locs now have 2 surface structures vs just having one. No big, but it’s different. Probably intentional since things are always changing/growing with this glorious game.
While I’m at it, anybody else notice that you now have to hit “N” twice if messing with a toilet to not drink?
Yes.
Edit: Can negative/positive traits picked at character creation exclude you from some mutagens?
Yes.

Not that I know of - I’ve seen several of them get replaced by their direct opposite.
I will say that purifier now seems to return the originals to you, even if you had something that replaced them… they didn’t used to do that. Nice for going back and forth between night vision/few vision, but lousy for getting rid of arm tentacles and such.
Does anybody know if Modifying clothing for warmth makes it warmer when used as a blanket?
Say I line a down blanket with fur; will it be more effective at being a blanket? Or a sleeping bag?
Yes.
It is proportional to item’s actual warmth and volume.
Are you wearing a backpack along with that duffel bag?
I could’ve sworn that extra number was for tracking layering conflicts.[/quote]
I was, so that might be it but wearing 2x long underwear tops/bottoms didn’t make the number go up so there’s something else at work too.
I’m a little confused on how the new recharging system works. The UPS-compatible recharging units charge my UPS converted items, i.e. my gunsmith repair kit (UPS) (500), but it still requires a UPS to operate. Is this a bug, or an incomplete feature?
Build 4223
Oh that is odd. I’m officially stumped. ;w;
There’s a METL GEER Chicken Walker blocking the bridge back to my base. I’m armed with a variety of melee weapons, crappy armor, and a slightly beaten-up van with a plow on the front. Can I take him?
Is there a way to prevent shocker zombies to disintegrate heavy armor with their eletricity? (beside in game CBMs).
I agree that they should be able to damage me, but damaging my heavy survivor suit to that point for a single zombies seems really really harsh.
The van might be your best bet. Hell, slap curtains on the windsheids and you might be able to blindly run inot it and not get shot up.
It’s death explosion is pretty potent, though. Unlike tank drone it does explode.
True. Good reason not to keep the engine in the front. o3o

HMM.
I think I’ll just look for another bridge. There’s actually three of them, but one of them has a roadblock on one end and one of them has a tank blocking the way; I only found out this one has a walker on one end after I crossed it. I sped away quickly enough it never noticed me the first time, but there’s a bunch of cars on its end that require tricky navigation to get around.
Which reminds me; are bridges specifically generated to be frustrating to cross in a vehicle? Seemingly every one I cross has a car spawning rate roughly five times the regular one for roads.
Which also reminds me: is there any intention to add highways back in? I only know they exist because the map description page of the help menu hasn’t been touched since before they were taken out.
I usually find at least two cars on a bridge. I generally end up tackling a corner of them so they can be pushed into the water, never to be seen again.
So, here’s a batshit insane idea.
If you modded all the default negative traits to not conflict which each other, how awful a game would that be?
Hiways were fun, but back when they were in I was more impressed by the semi-s they often had than how useful they were. Theyre just narrow bridges that have metal dividers and can go across land.
heads up.
ive been fightig through a hordes of irridated wanderers with a steel spear and it appears that ‘f’ ranged atracking with it overrides standing back up. Awl pike can 1 shot them with moderate skill but stands up poorly to a horde if fast attacker/runners
Pedit: also, may be a bug with z levels on Im attacking wanderers through the floor. I think I even through a molotov through the floor
