So “evolution” means they change to a better zed type, or they just “level up”.
Also the question is, they spawn “upgraded” when more time have passed (means they spawned zeds just appear from nowhere with +10 in everything) or they spawn them levels up when more time they stay “alive”?
Albino gives you a morale penalty and pain if your survivor is exposed to sunlight. Not sure if it damages you if the weather is too hot.
This effect can be blocked if you’re wielding an umbrella (survivors with albino traits start off with one). You can also wear clothing that can completely cover up your body (such as a thermal electric outfit).
It’s been that way for a couple months at least. And Lowe will always be slow. Whoever Lowe is. :V

I’m not 100% sure, but it’s possible that both occur. Various zombies have defined lists of what types they can upgrade to (acidic zombies becoming spitters and spitters becoming corrosives, for example). This is most visible when a zombie master is around. But it does control how they upgrade. Thing is, they don’t normally upgrade if you can see them, unless a zombie master forces them to.
So I don’t know if they can upgrade at any point so long as they exist but remain out of sight, or if it’s only checked for when they initially spawn.
It’s ALSO possible that when they leave the reality bubble (due to you traveling away), they could possibly be upgraded retroactively when you re-enter the area and thus reload them. Again, I’d need to go source diving to figure out how it actually works.
Note that this requires absolute 100% coverage. ;w;
But now higher means faster upgrades, which is more intuitive.
Are you sure? It says other wise, I have build 4078 and it stills says lower gets quicker evolution. Playing with it in a few worlds also gave me hulks day one at a low setting and mostly normal zeds at a high setting.

What. Oh wait. I got part of it wrong…oh! The part that keeps tripping me up is that what they actually changed was what happens if you set it to zero. @_@
If the evo ratio acts like I want to think it does, a smaller number corresponding to a shorter time to mutate makes sense.
Its called a scaling factor, and if its a multiplicative modifer then a higher number will mean the more time elapses between occurences. And since were talking about the occurence of upgraded critters a higher number means more time between the appearance of upgraded critters.
Yep. I done derped. I keep forgetting that no, it’s always been like that, and I keep forgetting that what used to be ass-backwards was an entirely different part of that.
Ah thanks for the clear up. I don’t suppose any one knows how it works, meaning how much time passes for each increment before it checks for evolutions?
