Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

Closest one can get to being a cybervampire.

Pro tip: Carry a .50 caliber rifle and at least 10 rounds of .50 BMG in the trunk of your car. Saved my ass from a surprise tank bot…

Can I put/make heavy duty quarterpanels somehow? The APC I have found is missing an engine, and when removing the quarterpanels, they turn to steel plating?

I am thinking of doing either a hospital or a lab start for my next game, and I was wondering…

What are the worst nega-traits I can take that I can fix by quaffing a purifier or jabbing myself with the stem cell machine?
It sounds silly and mildly gamey that I would take such traits, but I want to start a decent character and hopefully asap rid myself of all the negatraits so that my guy is pretty much ordinary trait wise, no weaknesses and probably due to purifiers also no strengths either.

Pretty sure HD-Quarterpanels don’t need to be made, you only need the right sort of plating for it. Either that’s heavy duty steel plating you can rip off of other armoured vehicles, or ordinary steel plating, I’m not sure which one…
If you’re removing heavy duty items and it turns into plain steel, then you might’ve stumbled upon a bug.

You can’t purify traits.

Well, but you can stem cell various traits like asthmatic, right?

I don’t know, but isn’t the stem cell machine for fixing broken limbs?

I thought I read somewhere it could also fix stuff like asthmatic, but now i’m not sure

Yes. Steel plating is the item needed to make heavy duty boards/quarterpanels/roof.

Know any ways to find Katanas or similar swords? I know a few ways, but please add to my knowledge.

  • Dope runners, sometimes within the corpses they have a katana/wakizashi/nodachi.
  • Antique stores sometimes have them, got to be lucky though and make sure it isn’t a replica.
  • Pawn shops I believe can have them.
  • Museums, sometimes along with their corresponding armor (O-yoroi + kabuto).
  • Mansions, if you’re lucky. Usually at the entrance with armor stands and such.
  • Very rarely on NPC’s, either trading them or wielding them.
  • Of course, crafting them.
  • Spawn it with Debug menu (Cheater!)

Also, is it still possible to make zombie slaves? I see the option but I don’t know the requirements to do so. (Or if it even is possible at all.)

To make a zombie slave, kill the zombie, stand over it and then choose the option.

Nope, the stem cell machine is used solely to heal damaged bodyparts and fix broken bones. You can’t remove or purify traits taken at chargen.

The fancy stone houses very rarely have a katana or other antiques on the metal rack near the entrance.

Is there any easy way to increase speaking skill past 6? I have an allied NPC that’s at 50% chance for successful dialogue that I’d love to be at 100%

EDIT: 6, not 8.

Like with all skills, books are the best for high-level skilling

Sadly, 6 is the max level that speech skillbooks can get you, it seems. >_>

We clearly need to add a ‘book of sophism’ then :stuck_out_tongue:

Failing that, there’s always trying to milk every speech trial you can get out out of your starter NPC. o3o

If a am smoking / on dugs am I more easily spotted by zombies?

Only if you don’t share the toke. (no they dont)
