You try turning it off and on on the bionics activation menu?

You try turning it off and on on the bionics activation menu?

I don’t have the bionic for night vision I’m afraid.

Is there an easy way to check if there’s a roof tile present over a part of a building? Was sledgehammering walls to create extra storage and…welll…you know the rest

Derp. Actually, you want the mutation screen. o3o

The nightvison trait is still togglable from that menu.

Sorry, it has its own diddy. ‘[’
Is there a quick way to pulp a lot of zombie corpses? It’s really tiring to manually search the corpses, pulp them, remember which ones you pulped and everything. Doing it at night is even worse, since you need to stumble around looking for any corpses.

Gets particularily hard during late game when there’s literally a dozen zombies per map square…

Is there any way to somehow disable zombie resurrection? Something that can be activated while a game is still going (got my first survivor to winter, don’t want to lose him).
Alright, tested and it should work if you set it up right. If you go into your folder with cdda in it, then save folder, then folder of the world you want to change, there should be a mods.json file in there. Open it with notepad, scroll it all the way to the right, and after the last quotation mark within the brackets put a comma, FOUR spaces, and then this:

“no_reviving_zombies”

Quotation marks included. When you are done it should look something like this at the end of the mod list:

“Tanks”, “No_Joke_Monsters”, “no_reviving_zombies”]

Ohhh, I didn’t even know that was a thing. Thanks a lot, fixed it no problem. I wonder how I turned it off? Oh well.

While starting the game with Night Vision has it on, gaining a new NV trait through mutation makes it default to off for some reason.

Thanks a ton! It worked perfectly.

Never really liked features like that… When it’s safe it’s just an extra complicated step, when it’s dangerous it’s just an annoyance, since you’ll be leaving the area anyway.

Unless you plan to dismember a car or explore a mine/lab/etc and pass by them a lot or when you use mass fire. Or you’re like me and occassionally spend actual days in the inner city. Gotta pulp basement zoms or zoms inside the house.

Im more upset they dont keep their clothes on than they reanimate. Its pretty quick to butcher or pulp them.

Hey, so when constructing a house how do I make the window be parallel to wall contruction? It keep showing up North to South no matter where I’m standing when I construct it.

Yeah, you can get sick from any source of unpurified water such as toilets, rivers, rain-water, water found in vehicles etc. All can be purified with a fire nearby.

Are you playing on one of the latest experimental builds after the light system overhaul? Unless you’re playing on the stable 0.C, your night vision won’t work if you’re standing next to any source of light such as your flashlight, your car’s headlights/domelight, a working console or a floodlight, a nearby fire or a lantern etc. Try standing in a middle of a field at night (say, 12AM) and see if that works.

Hi all! First time poster here! Love this game so much but am currently having some issues…

In my latest game with fungaloids disabled, I somehow have contracted the fungal disease and am barfing up gray goop everywhere. First question is how the heck can this happen, and second is what is the command to just give me a royal jelly to end this bullshit?

Did you end up coming across a flaming eye, because i’m pretty sure those bastards have a very small chance of infecting you with fungal spores (the disease should be disabled in the mod too, imo).

To cheat yourself some RJ, go into key assignment (? > 1) and then assign a key to the ‘wish menu’ (`~ are the best choices for the keys).
Secondly you use the key that you’ve assigned it to in the normal game screen, and then press 1 to open the wish screen. You search for Royal Jelly and get yourself one unit of the stuff.

Need to read up on it, well the wiki is kill but you can still go to an older version of the site using web archives. https://web.archive.org/web/20150907035519/http://www.wiki.cataclysmdda.com/index.php?title=Cheating

Finally, Welcome to the CDDA forums!

Enter the keybindings screen, bind an unused key to debug menu, and there’s an option to give yourself an item, enter royal in search and you’re all set.

My question (wiki is still down): What do I need to reinforce clothing? All my attempts to do so give me the ‘you practice your sewing’ message.

Keep going, ‘you practice your sewing’ is basically just a message saying that you failed to repair/reinforce and only wasted thread. Your tailoring skill will still improve and eventually you’ll repair/reinforce the piece of clothing you’re trying to reinforce… Sometimes it can take a long time, especially when your tailoring skill is still low.

If you didn’t have enough rags/leathers/plastics/metals, the game would tell you so rather than give you the ‘practice’ message.

You need an adequate tailoring skill, you are just practicing your sewing giving you XP until you can reinforce it. Also, some clothing can be made of plastics only and you’ll need a soldering iron to improve them. And it’s not just clothes that can be improved mind you, keep an eye on items and check what they are made of in the inventory.

Well this, if you have a soldering iron and plenty of scrap metal/plastic lying around, just go mad and reinforce EVERYTHING. You’ll have your mechanics high in no time :stuck_out_tongue:
And with everything, I mean everything from cash cards to lumps of steel.

oh neat soldering metal grants mechanic xp or any plastic too?

Yep. Soldering involves mechanics, sewing involves tailoring. Misc repair (toolbox, repair kit, etc) requires a minimum fabrication to use, but I can’t recall if it gives experience for using it.
