Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

my understanding is it is a machine located in certain places. Specialized hospitals or something, and that it casuses massive pain and debufs for a while, but you get your limb back eventually so yay.

Does it work for npcs?

Debug menu can help. No non-cheaty way currently exists, because splints are too encumbering for NPCs to consider.

That would explain it then…I guess I will delegate that npc to guard duty then.

Splints will sloooowly heal a broken limb. Could try making one and either using the “I’d like you to use this item” companion option, or by trading it to them and hoping they put it on.

If neither works, NPC edit option in the debug menu should allow you to force them to equip it.

Ah, so a force to wear option, that should be a non debug menu option fro things like splints only.

It is a debug option I mean, but I’ve never played around with it.

How can you fight a tank drone?
Out tank them. owo
If you have an artifact that gives you invisibility tank drones are chumps.

That must be new - I’ve hit them with that before, and they blew up right in my face. Very unpleasant.

As far as I can recall, EMPs in general have carried the risk of the target doing its death function (in most cases, exploding) instead of being fried for quite a while. At least since my first character in the 0.B stable days, at least with EMP grenades versus turrets. I think.

Yeah, they were basically bobombs for the longest time. Back before explosions got beefed I used to destroy robots with MA, since most hits bounced them back far enough not to be engulfed in the explosion…
Start up newest version of Cata »
set NPC spawn rate to .25 or .1, set other preffered settings »
start new world, create character etc… »
Try really hard to get starter NPC to be follower before having to leave to zombie munch fate »
If successful, keep NPC from doing anything self-destructive/stupid to best of ability, if not skip step »
check map semi regularly, for anything new, if NPC try to see first, see what weapon is whatever case may be best bet is probably still to keep distance unless sure I can take them.
When told to drop weapon, do. If NPC continues to be obnoxious/try to steal shit, pick up weapon, kill. If not become friends, send on way if not possible, surrender and curse NPC for being better equiped than me. If NPC is non wander, plot revenge. If is wander, run over/drive-by if possible.

Most of the time I end up either losing some stuff but @ lives, or they become friendly. Due to high volatility of NPC’s I just keep em low spawn or they end up swarming the map and I get surounded by NPC’s trapped just outside reality bubble that I will inevitably encounter if I go anywhere. Best bet to get rid of NPC that is hostile and won’t stop chasing you is to make them run into another hostile, such as a zom etc… that they can attack instead and lose track of you.
wait theres a spawn rate option now for NPCs? shieeeeet its been awhile

NPC’s recently got MUCH better in experimentals.

just use your coercive skill of grabbing them by said broken limb and duct taping splint on

Yeah, my NPC spawn rate is 0.01 so it’s always exciting when you find one.

Yes and then you get careless and said npc unloads his ar clip into your torso.

^^^^^ just when you get comfortable, and go. Ah ok I am strong enough that no NPC would attack me, they all want to be my friend now. plus non have this game, recently. They are smart now. They would NEVER attack MEE.

“Drop your Kel-Tec KSG” ~ Npc with .22 pipe rifle

Huehuehue. Only thing more amusing is when they get all angry at the player while wielding a melee weapon, when you have an LMG.

If you store your perishables in a refrigerator that isn’t mounted on a vehicle, will it take longer for them to spoil?
