Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

my automatic pulse laser mounted on my front bumper cant fire at something what is behimd boards of my vehicle when i manualy control turret at car controls

by the way, car alarm will summon eyebots? i plan to farm them but smashing bars at gunstore is not effective

So I just randomly found an atomic mini tank. The reactor is broken but the rest seems to be in good shape and it’s covered in composite plating.

And I have an M2 Browning to mount on it…

This is a good day.

I am wondering how to power it though. Solar panels and electric motors are pretty much the only practical choice right now due to lack of fuel but I’m not sure if they’re going to move something that huge/heavy easily at all.

I don’t suppose anyone implemented an engine switching mechanic yet, by the way?

It seems like something we obviously need. You know how in hybrid cars you can turn off the petrol engine and go over to battery power only? That’s what I want to be able to do in DDA. So you only burn petrol when you need it.

Multiple engines can be configured, yeah. It might be a hassle though. I know at the very least, they add a compounding increase in the level requirement to install.

you can control what engine you will use at time and large electric motors are powerfull but with tracks you can forget about fast speeds but if you manage to get 32 safe speed it will be enought to move around

and geting level for multiple engines is not hard when you have something about 8 lvl try repairing and then disasemble tank and start constructing your death mobile from scratch

That was always the case as far as I remember and I installed a crapload of electric engines in an RV in my previous game.

On another subject entirely, I got into that military outpost because the turrets ran out of ammo.

I now have an advanced UPS and no plutonium.

And power armour but no hauling frame.

… And dragon skin armour. Which seems to be… terrible? Is that intentional? 8 Cut protection for significant weight, 10 encumberment, and no way of repairing it? Really? It appears to be worthless crap.

The Kevlar vest on the other hand has over twice the protection and can be repaired.

?! Some kind of reference to Dragon Skin vests being overrated in real life?

Edit: Well, scratch that, it’s not as good as the kevlar but it CAN be repaired. The in game text is wrong.

Dragon skin, right. cue joke about dragon scales being better o3o

And I still can’t find WHAT makes dragon skin vests impossible to repair.

EDIT: Also, I think you’re eyeing a damaged example. It normally was 9 bash protect, 23 cut.

actualy IRL dragon skin vest only advantage is that they do not get into way
and in game dragon skin vest give more cut defense but have this same stats like kevlar vest
(18 cut for kevlar 23 for dragon)

and you can refit and repair dragon vest with kevlar plates (but some time ago they were only ceramic so unrepairable)

I was gonna say, 8 cut protect, what the fuck. :V

I assume they changed the vest. They should change the description it seems.

Yep, turns out it’s a lot better than it first seemed. And you CAN repair it perfectly well.

… And add kevlar panels to it with the tailor’s kit. My chest encumberance might be off the charts but nothing is going to be killing me with a body hit any time soon.

I suspect the description needs updating.

So it seems, but no big deal…

Meanwhile though, another description is being confusing. Laser sights. Do they do anything? They say something about increasing the speed of targetting.

But the aim speed stat of a weapon doesn’t change when you install one.

i think they decrease dispression but i am not sure

Is there a way to shoot from inside your vehicle (using a handheld gun) without damaging your windshields/quarterpanels/plating? I tried with my pneumatic assault rifle, and nearly broke the wind shield.

I thought you could shoot over quarterpanels and armour plating, just not boards doors and windshields. I could be wrong.

But what I was considering was installing glass doors as a windshield and simply opening the one in front of me if I want to shoot out.

Replacing the sliding door on a hippie bus with a pair of trunk doors and one door motor can make for a pretty good firing platform IMO, especially for mounted guns.

How do I get into the strange temple?
You need to:
-First explore a mine and find a petrified eye in the final chamber.
-Then you can examine the temple pedestal with the eye in your inventory to open the gates.

I also recommend a Jackhammer or sonic resonator for temple exploration.

OR you can cheat and dig directly besides the floor grates
I got that tank operational…

But I can’t seem to work out how to fire the main gun. What am I doing wrong?

It’s not available under the turret menu seemingly. It seems to be intact though.

Man the gun manually like a real man, man. o3o

Sit at the seat it’s installed in, unequip any weapon you might be wielding, hit fire.
