Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

Revolver Shotgun is pretty nice and powerful
As is the 12 gauge handgun (can be stored in ankle/shoulder holsters for emergencies allowing a couple shots if you get overwhelmed)

Blunderbuss lets you upscale the damage from piddly .22 to something usable, but it’s slow enough that it’s really meant for emergencies like when a feral predator jumps you unexpectedly.

Nail rifle is ok too, it fires a 5 round burst and uses ammo you can get from smashing furniture ( *just don’t smash them with the rifle )

Hey guys. I have a little question for ya… When i try to pry doors or windows with a crowbar, it generally work. But my last try tend to be like “There’s nothing to pry here”… I understand the meaning of this when i give an attempt to pry a metal door, but why it doesn’t work with random wooden locked doors or windows ?

It should work with wooden doors, but some windows can’t be opened and thus can’t be pried if I recall.

Well maybe i have a little problem with wooden doors xD This grenade that i crafted before should work then :3

Btw, thanks for the reply.

Edit : Look like i have some trouble with doors. I tried to break into a lab science using a grenade on the metal front door. 2 grenades. I don’t know how this door resist, but it’s still there, laughing at me. Any advice to enter in this gold mine without Id scientist card ? I noticed an armored car next to the building, with spike plating (and a turret, i think). Maybe should i refill it with gasoline and try to break walls with it ?
And if it’s worth it, do i have to refill it with a rubber hose ?

Do items take damage from laying on fungal tiles? I always feel like I leave with less than I came with when reconfiguring a deathmobile and I know I had a turbo lazer when I started…

Lab walls and doors are pretty hard nowadays - smashing with weapons and low level explosives won’t do it, they’re not crowbarable, you need some skill and an electrohack to pick the cardreader. Jackhammers work a treat though. Beware if you do manage to get in illicitly, there’s a turret in there waiting for you…

Trees are an essential part of the bionic ubermensch’s diet. Just cut down a tree, chop it into logs and enjoy a whopping 500+ power per serving thanks to your internal furnace.

Fiber contributes to good health.

Well i suppose that i have to train my skill even if i don’t like reading books. I will manage to find a Jackhammer if it’s my last ressort x)
Btw, i had prepared an EMP grenade if a turret was blocking the way, but now, i know i can save my grenades to blow up this piece of wreckage. I also have a flamethrower and a double barrel to take care of these creatures waiting me down there.

Explosions are currently a bit broken. They do very low damage to players, monsters, buildings, etc, but very HIGH damage to items laying about. Also, they are huge. Essentially, at the moment, their primary purpose is the destruction of loot.

I hope that this will be rectified by the next stable version, at least.

I remembered how i broke into a gun shop with only a match-head bomb in a previous game. I thought that i could do it the same way in the science lab. Too bad x)

I just want to note that while regular explosions and explosive weaponary are all kinds of screwy right now in the experimentals, a good old fashion pile of loose ammunition lit next to a metal lab door still seems to do the trick when it comes to making a dynamic entry, or atleast it used to in my experience. Also, that armored car you mentioned previously along with most any sturdy working vehicle for that matter should be able to smash its way through a lab’s concrete walls and metal doors, just be mindful of the turret if you do it in an unarmored vehicle.

And how old is the version you’re playing? I haven’t EVER had any luck blowing open doors with burning ammo.

Do you I need to butcher just killed zombie, so it wont be re-spawn in next hours?

Butcher the zombie, smash the zombie, run the zombie over repeatedly, explode the zombie, explode the zombie’s corpse, drop an acid bomb on the corpse, drop the corpse into lava…

Is there a way to enable hordes in an ongoing game? I’m feeling cocky.

Well i will try to put some piles of ammunition to see if it do the trick. Like you said, the armored card i’ve seen before look pretty… well… armored. I suppose i can litterally go through the lab with it. I don’t think this turret will resist anyways.

I don’t remember that it’s possible, because you have to enable it on the world creator screen. And i don’t think you can access to this screen while you are playing… Maybe you should go over swamps ? There’s a good challenge over there.

Use an acetylene torch to cut the metal door open. Easiest way.

I just run the door down with my car when i have no id card.

you can smash walls with sledge hammer or just mine it with pickaxe

Funny, for some reason now I can’t bring down metal doors using the torch on them (experimental btw), tried on labs and bunkers doors and no avail.
