What are vortex engines/generators?
Blaze’s mod, far as I can tell they’re effectively phenomenal cosmic (vehicle) powers! Itty bitty living space.
So, I tried making a makeshift welding cart to drag around. It consists of a light wooden frame, and a banded wooden wheel.
However, I noticed when I drag it, it scrapes across the ground. I figured 1 tile vehicles needed casters or wheelbarrow wheels, and wouldn’t work with other wheels.
I then realized unicycles are a thing.
So, what exactly could be wrong with it then? What would make it not scrape across the ground, without making it impossible to drag?
It consists of the frame, the wheel, the welding rig, a solar panel, and a battery.
EDIT: I suppose I could make it into some sort of bicycle, but I’m still curious as to why the vehicle isn’t working. I figured it’d work exactly like a wheelbarrow, being pivoted on a single wheel. But the game says no.
Certain wheels are stable and can be used on one-tile vehicles without scraping. In addition to the casters and wheelbarrow wheels, installing a bicycle wheel as a UNICYCLE wheel makes it count as stable.
So yeah, it uses the same part as a bicycle wheel, but a different object on the install menu.
I used to have a 1 tile vehicle for storage, and I noticed that if I put to much stuff in it would start to scrape. So maybe to much weight is the problem?
Good day everyone.
Could someone tell me - does horde mechanic changed recently? I mean - when I played with hordes some time ago hordes just spawned near cities and then wander in random directions, so my initial goal was just go away and start to build my shelter.
But now they just keep chasing me everywhere ) I started with wilderness scenario, tired to make mayself a forest shelter but they came and kill me. I tried again, with some travelling away from initial spawn point - same result. I tried to travel far from starting point in the middle of some big forest - they came again. Somehow I managed to shake them of and settle in another forest. And guess what - horde came to visit me again ) I keep thinking that I’m the only one who makes noice (3 to 6 points…) and they can hear it from miles away (but not the turrets or dinamic NPC’s).
So it just my bad luck or horeds became inevitable and almost unavoidable menace?
BTW, does after sleep messages like “you feel well rested/you could get used to this lifestyle” and so on mean something or they just for flavor?
If you mean the positive green text that comes up when you wake up, it apparently means your hidden health stat is high, so keep taking them vitamins. (I asked the same thing in the page before this one. :|)

The second question is a hint at your current health level (the actual health stat is hidden, so that’s the only thing that tells you anything about it).
As to hordes… yeah, as I understand it, that’s being worked on right now, so in theory, it should really be nice at some point. Right now, it’s supposedly based on noise, but I don’t know how well it works - I don’t play with it, but comments like yours are common.
Short answer: for now, play static spawn, and check it again next version.

So that’s why my gargobuddy with trunk & armored wheel keeps scraping the floor.
Alright, so after taking a break for awhile i recently started playing again. I see that a lot of new things have been added, that being said most of my builds i’ve been selecting the “spiritual” trait when making a new character. This is mostly because i am interested in the “experiencing mystical things” part of it, not so much the morale boost. But so far nothing mystical has occurred, can anyone explain what happens exactly?

Halp! For some reason I’m not able to use my welding rig for vehicle repairs. The welder isn’t recognized = text appears in red, as if it’s missing or not available. Welding goggles = OK, Mechanics skill = OK. Plenty of battery power to suck from. I CAN use the rig to repair items, but not the vehicle. What gives?

I’m on Windows and I like to play in windowed mode. Is it possible to set the game window to open at a specific location on the screen? It always seems to launch centered and I’d like to offset the window upwards by this much. spreads hands
It mostly just grants morale boosts from reading religious books, using holy symbols or relics, and a wide array of other things. Basically nearly anything that could be considered an element of some sort of religious, even things as obscure as smoking a joint (Rastafarianism) or allegedly cannibalism (not quite sure what historical religions actually did that, aside from the “cannibalistic natives” stereotype).

But does anything “mystical” happen to help you in your favor like unique mutations or some kind of helping hand?
Far as I know, no. No doubt suggesting that supernatural stuff happen more often to religious characters likely would cause endless complaints. >_>
Speaking of endless annoyance, scheisse. Just these last 2-3 pages have had what, half a dozen people asking about the healthiness-report messages?
Theres no magic in cata.
Unless you use that mod I’d been mucking about with. And even then it’s restrained by the magic being potions and items. No spellcasting for you. XP
Technically artifacts would count as effectively magic in that there’s no logical explanation for them. But both lore-wise and code-wise they still have a logic, a scientific nature to how their properties add up.
Ah ok thanks, i was under the impression when using that trait that when reading religious texts that supernatural events would occur to help your character, welp time for a better trait.
The morale bonuses can be pretty huge though. XP
True
And besides, you don’t need Spiritualist to find the supernatural. Just hope you stumble into an artifact. Though if Roadside Picnic has taught me anything, just because you have no idea what an object is, doesn’t mean no one or nothing knows what it is.
Funny thing is I’m writing up a ruleset for a magic system in a fantasy setting at the moment. So in that scenario, just because it’s formulaic, just because one can write down the nature of a spell, doesn’t make it mundane. XP
