Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

But I’m not taking vitamins. I’ve just been eating lasagna and milk. And occasionally snorting cocaine. :stuck_out_tongue:

Something you’ve been eating has been healthy enough to counteract the coke then. :V

Can you install 2 camera control systems in the same vehicle?

You can, though running both at once will mean more power loss. But obviously you don’t NEED to keep both running all the time.

Alright, that makes things easier. Thanks.

Is there a reason that powerarmor are two items (Armor + helmet) instead of one?
I ask because i found 3 armors in my game so far (2 normal, 1 light), but absolutely no helmets.
It would be easier it is was just 1 item like the hazmat suits.

related question: is there a difference between powering powerarmor with thw UPS CBM or the powerarmor ones?
The powerdraw seems equal from ups CBM and powerarmor MKII CBM

another related question: Why can’t i strap anything to my powerarmor - no scabbard, no sheath, no holster - how do soldiers fight with these things, they cant even carry much ammo

They are still kind-of-prototypes armors. I am making up stuff right now, but since only elite soldier are equipped with this exoskeletons, we con suppose they are usually equipped with top-tier guns, aka energy weapons that drain energy directly from the same UPS/CBM energy that powers the armor.
To me, having a detachable helmet makes sense. But I agree with, 99% of the times you find the armor, the helmet should be next to it, and vice versa.

there’s also the power armor hauling thing, as a separate item, that you can wear with power armor and gives you 120 volume of carrying.

I believe you can’t strap anything to it because power armor is supposed to be extremely bulky. Fitting a backpack around your arms while wearing it would be odd, to say the least, and even if you managed to get something around it, you wouldn’t have easy access to it.

It’s literally a giant suit of metal. You shouldn’t even be able to move without it being powered.

However, there IS a power armor hauling frame you can get that adds 120 volume. This can only be worn while wearing power armor, however. So if you find one before you have power armor, it’s kinda useless.

You could always just drag a shopping cart around with you, carrying various different killing instruments. Usually what I do for looting runs anyway.

Yeah I know about the hauling frame, I still find it odd that I can’t wear a Scabbard or sheath or something like that with the armor

It doesn’t emit a disruptorfield or something like it?

If I recall, the most common reason given is that the suits are very bad about moving in ways that would pinch, catch on, or otherwise inflict havoc on anything you tried to wear over it, aside from the hauling frame explicitly designed to work with it.

Granted, this explanation still sounds a bit derpy, but not catching and pinching stuff (though more importantly, not doing the same to the user’s skin) is one of many problems affecting development of real-life powered exoskeletons.

While I agree that a backpack, duffelbag etc is silly to wear over powerarmor I disagree that a sheath, holster, scabbard etc would be hindering or impossible to wear

True, though it might need some particular attachment point to keep it out of the way. If we had a flag for the few items that might logically fit on power armor…hmm.

Holster (for automag), scabard (for chainsword) and a messangerbag (for ammo) maybe?

Not sure about the messenger bag given the strap, but the other things mentioned seem logical.

Yeah something like that. Knive, passibly sword and a small pouch for ammo. Could even be an extra Item which has to be crafted

Having a few more dedicated power armor holding things other than the hauling frame would be both useful and fairly logical, but not too unbalancing. Make them small though, a few grenades, spare ammo, a sidearm.

Possibly, though adapting them to fit in a way that they wouldn’t catch on anything might be one mitigating factor, by ensuring that you have to craft or find them rather than stick existing equivalents on.

Now, back on topic…still trying to figure out how to reference artifacts as .json items. ;_;
