It’s an easy thing to miss. Like I say, I do things that all the time, especially when it’s late. <3
Any ideas how to solve this one?
…aside from copy-pasting that to make it stay where it should be? :V
I DID IT! I DID IT! I MANAGE TO FACKING DO IT!!!
Problem Was I Deleted “Some” of the Vortex Stone’s Code That I Thought Were There For The ‘Charges’ And Not The Actual Thing Itself Oops.
Anyway, It Works Now.
Edit: DAUM, Is that the Sun I See!? I spent The Whole Night Working On This!
No Sleep For Me .-.
I Now Know What Modders Deal With On A Daily Basis When Creating Mods…
If You Guys Want To Try Out My Mod Here’s The Link To The Topic Page: http://smf.cataclysmdda.com/index.php?topic=11032.0
Well, next time you have to find a specific line in a text file, you could try Agent Ransack or a similar program (grep or somethign?). Lets you search entire folders for a specific word to appear in any of the contained files. One of the more useful tools for modding, imo.
Hm, I never knew there could be a program that could do that. I’ll look into that.
Notepad++ (which is probably what you should be using to edit json files anyways if you are on windows) already has a “search all open documents” option in it’s find/replace window. It’s very helpful, to say the least, though it does require you to have opened all of the documents that you wish to search.
Depends on what you are using. Most melee weapons, 1 tile. Spears and other rare medieval stuff, 2 tiles. Shotguns with 00 shots, usually 6 tiles; with slugs, 12. SMGs and pistols up to 30. Bows vary greatly, the longbow gets up to 20 tiles I think. Assault Rifles and light machine guns, around 60. Also depends on what ammo you are using. Launchers vary greatly as well, I’d say the average is 25. The M2 browning and most sniper rifle 80-90 or so, but their ammo is rare. 30 tiles are actually a lot for a gun fight, so don’t be surprised if you miss 95% of your shots. Remember to read books about that class of weapons, accurize you gun with a firearm repair kit (or gunsmith repair kit if you are lucky enough to have one), reduce arm encumberance, and wait for eventual dex-str-per malus to fade away, apply scopes, bipods and gyroscopic stabiliser to your gun, and use the best ammo and gun you have.[/quote]
Actually was meaning the range reality bubble gives which I think was 60 and player beign middle that ought to mean there’s nothing loaded beyond 30 tiles.
IIRC that’s a radius of 60, not a diameter (meaning 60 in any given direction, not 30).
Ok, never did actually play with targeting to find out the truth.
Kinda does make anything with range creater that 60 a bit pointless?
Unless there’s some hidden math here like guns losing accuracy at the max range.
Ouch. ;_;
So what’s the cvd machine look like? I want diamond bayonet. Weapon dmg is already crazy. a Nodachi is already sick dmg, why have it be even more?
I usually start with a wood axe which is fine. The max I use is like the kukri later for faster strikes.
It’s a 4x4 machine made of %'s with a nonfunctional console. Located at the bottom of a Lab as the finale. You’ll need lab journal-Gustav which has the recipes to make use of it though, the presquite weapon, hydrogen and some charcoal.
Edit: The Diamond Weapons are pretty great. The nodachi alone get’s a whole 11 extra damage out of the process. But usually by the time I’ve found the machine, along with having the skills and the weapon to make use of it, I’ve switched to regular guns fueled by a stockpile of ammunition or energy weapons so it doesn’t see much use. That and I’m using the Survivor Machete to literally stunlock everything to death already and anything more would be overkill. A Diamond Nodachi with Niten-Ichi Ryu one-shoting Hulks is probably one of the greatest things ever though.
I use tiles. I grew up on text/ascii games in the 80’s. I’d prefer to never have to use it again.
There is no 4x4 machine. The ‘finale’ was 39 mini nukes on the floor. Wasn’t anything to fight. Unless there is something I’m supposed to start but didn’t. the lab is cleared already.
I have a journal, and materials.
I used a Granade earlier, with the bionic I’ve got a 22 str. I can already 1 shot most things, makes it kind of boring. With that strength, and the diamond Nodachi, it would be 81 base damage.
I’ve got plenty of ammo for various guns, I just decided to go melee mostly with this one. If I need range I pull out the Barrett M107A1.
Yep, that’s the pile of mininukes in the middle of a empty room finale. If your lucky you might also find in a lab 238-NK: Practicality Enhancement which is a book that teaches you how to build your own handheld nuclear catapult. Having a ridiculous amount of mininukes is useful even without it though, I’ve yet to encounter a problem atomic fire can’t solve.
But yeah, if you don’t find what your looking for in one lab then you’ve just gotta keep breaking into others until one has the finale you want.
How big is the mininuke explosion?
Can they be remotely detonated? Or shot where they explode… or matchbomb run like hell etc.
The last fungal tower I came upon was just starting to grow, and was like 16x16. near a house. I burned the house. … Tossed a bunch of C4 and other things and killed it in the area or so I hope. They I left that town completely.
There’s some fungal towers and blooms around. Some = like 10. There’s too much of this crap.
I loathe the fungal stuff. Not that it exists, just it’s WAY too agressive when it’s around. It could be cut back to 1/5th of the speed and it would be fine. I don’t play a ‘fast’ paced game. I set seasons to 60 days and take my time.
I usually just get in my vehicle/home, and drive off until it’s out of the reality bubble, and never got into the area.

I do the same… then come back with a large bionic energy pool, a UPS bionic, and the fusion blaster rifle. “Kill it with fire” is WAY too slow.
Now, when there’s a river nearby, I NEVER come back to that. Get funglaoids in a river… BLARG. Can someone PLEASE mod them to drown? PRETTY PLEASE???
I haven’t tried a mininuke on that situation, though… hmmm…
That is why I’d initially pondered PRing a mod to NERF fungal enemies instead of remove them entirely, but went with removal in the end.
Meh, they really aren’t TOO bad… I’ll occasionally deal with a fungal tower or a fungal bloom even early in the game. Catch them when it’s not raining, set it on fire, and you’re 75% done.
Now, fungal flowers require some serious firepower, and if any of it’s near a river, just bloody FORGET it… but seriously, fix the river problem, and only fungal flowers will be late-game-only.
Is foraging completly random?
It would make sense to have batches of certain plant/berry etc instead of randomly generating one every time you examine a bush or shrub.
Do realise it would kill CPU to pre-generate these at worldgen, but how about pre-generated batches?
