I have been trying to mount an m60 as turret but I am unable to operate it. I mount it and it says that its enabled but have been configured to not shoot. Could anyone explain me how to successfully install it and operate it? Thanks!
Blaze’s mod claims another victim, I suspect?
You either need to configure it at controls with the “configure turrets” option or operate it manually by standing over it with no item in hand and 'f’iring.
I do have it enabled. I have never build a vehicle more complex then a solar powered motorcycle and now I am building a mobile fortress. I have a small semblance of an idea of what I am doing.
Vehicle Additions Pack makes the default turrets manual. :V
Can I mod sniper rifles into more traditional “Can’t move, no range penalty”?
IMO the best way to use sniper rifles atm is to stick the barrel to zeds nose and pull the trigger.
(Granted, same goes to all guns.)
If your rifle and marksman skill is low (under 4-5), don’t use one. You will just be wasting ammunition.
That’s pretty much true with any of the guns.
I tend to use .22 handguns and rifles to train up the skill at low levels. You’ll just be plinking and they are nearly silent and since they don’t do much damage, it’s good for training.
Once I can make a pneumatic weapon I use that to train rifles to higher.
Once it get’s higher it’s fine. “Sniper” rifles already have long range, usually longer than you can visually on the map. most are 50-110.
Also remember to use a firearm of gunsmith kit on them which gives them a bonus to accuracy.
Kinda makes sense, you don’t get to be a sniper just by saying you’re one.
But does the game have itemflags for “no range penalty” or “need to deploy to be fired”?
Intrested to see how OP would a rifle with no range penalty be.
Oh, and what is the max theoretical range one can engage enemies, 30?
I mentioned earlier that my character broke her arm, and it took me almost 30 days to finally get an arm splint. The only problem is I’ve been wearing it for the last 4 days and it isn’t healing atall. It’s still at :…
Anyone know what’s wrong with it?
Healing an arm takes a while if you don’t have the quick healer trait. It could take up to two weeks to set, then it will let you start applying first aid kits to it.
What are inboard mirrors for?
Enhances vision in the same way as wing mirrors. Less exposed because they aren’t protrusions, but also less vision as a consequence of said lack of exposure.
EDIT: And now, a question. What all conditions cause slimesprings to form?
Overeating, huge damage and invoking the ability.
Ah, so they are formed from the player, and not other sources? Excellent, this means my latest mod ( smf.cataclysmdda.com/index.php?topic=11013.msg244884 ) hasn’t commited a derpy thing.
EDIT: Also…grackens. Any idea on the inspiration behind them?
[This works best when you’re driving down a road and suddenly a minefield shows up in the middle of the road)
Tip regarding minefields:
If you have a high enough Perception to spot all the mines in a minefield (and be confident that you’ve found ALL of them before you do what I’m suggesting), you can throw rocks, sticks, chunks of tainted meat, and other garbage at the landmines to clear them. The inpact of the object hitting the mine will set it off, and once all mines are clear you can safely drive.
How much would a triangular ram formation on the front of a vehicle help with pushing away vehicles?
Depends on what you are using. Most melee weapons, 1 tile. Spears and other rare medieval stuff, 2 tiles. Shotguns with 00 shots, usually 6 tiles; with slugs, 12. SMGs and pistols up to 30. Bows vary greatly, the longbow gets up to 20 tiles I think. Assault Rifles and light machine guns, around 60. Also depends on what ammo you are using. Launchers vary greatly as well, I’d say the average is 25. The M2 browning and most sniper rifle 80-90 or so, but their ammo is rare. 30 tiles are actually a lot for a gun fight, so don’t be surprised if you miss 95% of your shots. Remember to read books about that class of weapons, accurize you gun with a firearm repair kit (or gunsmith repair kit if you are lucky enough to have one), reduce arm encumberance, and wait for eventual dex-str-per malus to fade away, apply scopes, bipods and gyroscopic stabiliser to your gun, and use the best ammo and gun you have.
There is a vehicle on the road that I need to move to make room for my vehicle. How should I go about moving it?
