I got a flamethrower off an NPC that decided to go fight die against few beasties, the range is 4 but the explosion / fire always catches me in it. Is there any way to avoid this or do I just need to find fireproof gear?

Only ever use it at maximum range. D:

Agreed… And I do… But I still get caught in the flames. The flames have a 4-radius burst from target point.

Huh, odd. O.o

Also, feral predators seem to have some night vision. They can pretty much home in on you during night raids.

What does the pain resistant trait exactly do? Is it better than tough?

If I recall, it either reduces how quickly your pain builds up from painful effects, or it reduces the penalties from pain. Need to test that.

EDIT: Yeah, it reduces pain. Tested via gamma globulin shot plus, plus debugging, plus ye olde savescumming. 3 pain without the trait, 1 pain with it. And -1 intelligence even with only 1 pain.

Besides smashing refrigerators and random drops, what other ways of getting a rubber hose there is, if any?

They often spawn in hardware stores.

Random quote is random. Hardware item group, plumbing item group, sewage plant item group, helicopter crash site item group, car kit (jacks and other emergency gear) item group…

So…

How, exactly, migjt one repair an alluminm bat?

Soldering iron won’t do, basic repair kit won’t… kinda out of ideas .

duct tape?

Basic repair kit uses duct tape. Aluminum is, sadly, unrepairable. Same with copper, I think. ;w;

Seriously? Agh. Every time I find a half-decent weapon, it gets nerfed unholy hell. Glugh.

Given the bat is hardly the best clobbering device, it’s likely a failure to update the source after whenever aluminum was coded in.

Could someone please tell me how to actually use a sword bayonet, once equipped to a gun, to make a reach attack?

Should be able to switch to it by hitting “F”. Should be called weapon (bayonet).

Thats what I thought, but no. all I have is single shot, burst, and my rail mounted crossbow. no bayonet option

I can’t recall if bayonets give you a range option, actually. If they do it might only be the sword bayonet.

Try removing the crossbow and see if it works, there could be a bug handling alternate fires.

I mean it worked okay with my m4a1+bayonet.
