I have heard legends told of vehicles made entirely out of foldable components that can be folded and stored in other containers, including vehicles, but that’s the closest analogue I’m aware of.
How do I equip my shelter with a working fridge?
Can one just build a single kitchen unit (naturally frames etc) and then add the needed parts to power it?
Yep, that’s the right number.
So is there a way to get power indoors from solar panels and how would I proceed with building my fridge along the needed powesource?
You can use jumper cables. Or just keep a charging station outside and move batteries to and from it when needed.
A fully charged undamaged truck battery will last for a long time.
I found some “drive-by-wire”"controls from one of those solar bubble cars, what exactly they do? Also how does one acquire a FOODCO kitchen unit, and what are the point of the large spider eggs harvested from spider nests?
A foodco can only be build with the right book as reference. I do not know of any vehicle that has them at generation.
You can use spider egs for spider mutagen or;
What i do:
Take the eggs to your base and turn them into eggpowder. Thereafter you can store them forever and use them to make scrambled eggs or cookies… or other stuff in need of egg powder.

this is the single best thing to do with them. Fact.

Huh, didn’t know you could make scrambled eggs out of the spoder eggs, do you happen to know what purpose the drive by wire controls serve as?
I haven t used those myself yet in a game. I stumbled across those and also a remote controle. suposedly you can remotly controle your vehicle if youinstall it.
I do not know the specifics so i can only speculate:
I asume you can do things like starting the engine … turning on lights … the fridge , sound the horn… or activate your turrets ~
Should i feel like playing arround with it i ll tell you what i found out unless someone else feels the urge to answere the question before i get to it.
Has anyone made a screenshot thread? I would really enjoy seeing people’s progress in-game and considering making one as I have not seen any history of anyone making one. Also, where does one find .50 ammo? I know it is rare but I have two M2 Brownings I want to mount on my RV.
Probably only about 10+ ‘a screenshot tread’ is rather vague, you may want to subcategorize that into ‘Vehichle screenshot thread’, ‘bionic power thread’, ‘mutations thread’, ‘fun&amazing data stories thread’, ‘stupid things I’ve done/come across thread’, ‘Challenge accepted,’ and or ‘OMG crazy I can’t believe I lived through this thread.’ Don’t think any of the threads I’ve come across were strictly screenshots, but most/all of those sorts of threads are some-mostly talk with lots of screenshots to show/backup stories told.
I don’t know the best places to look; my character found ~210 rounds amidst the wreckage of an APC.

library, and bunker are probably the best places to start.
You can post a screenshot wherever you want as far as i am concerened. As long as its ontopic. And id recommend using spoiler tags for bigger pics.
Heres an example of a minefield that has no visual indication:
Heres an example of a minefield that has no visual indication:Some time ago I used to think that's a feature. Actually no, it means your character is low on Perception at the time.
Thats not what i mean .
You can see them if you have the stats and / or skill.
But unlike other minefield these have no visual cue without skill like dirt mounds .
edit: If you watch closely you can see that i can see the mine. The grasstile it resides on is slightly different from the others. Before i detected it however it looked exactly like all the other grass tiles.

Yeah, I gave the artist some feedback on that a while ago. Hoping that wasn’t the reason she stopped updating.
FWIW we just merged a PR that marks the random minefields, so less random deaths from low character PE, I’d think.
Where is a good place for a new character to find duct tape? I expected it to be fairly common in houses, but I haven’t found any in those I’ve searched so far. I considered checking out the local home improvement store, but it’s surrounded by zombies. A screwdriver would also be useful, but duct tape would be ideal.
surprisingly most any place you find clothes such as dressers and the like, just randomly lying on floor in houses and stuff, also there are recipes for making it in some books. Hardware might have some, overall its pretty common but try not to waste it on things you don’t need if you can help it. Especially since its normally used in fairly large amounts, even as its found in large amounts.
