IMO, home improvement stores really don’t have anything useful (unless you want to paint your house). Best place to look for duct tape would be in the hardware stores (also good places to find a screwdriver)

Agreed. hardware stores and bedrooms in houses in the dresser are my two places I tend to find it. Later on though you can sometimes find thousands of units of it in a single lab.

You can see them if you have the stats and / or skill.
But unlike other minefield these have no visual cue without skill like dirt mounds .
edit: If you watch closely you can see that i can see the mine. The grasstile it resides on is slightly different from the others. Before i detected it however it looked exactly like all the other grass tiles.
Yeah, I gave the artist some feedback on that a while ago. Hoping that wasn’t the reason she stopped updating.
FWIW we just merged a PR that marks the random minefields, so less random deaths from low character PE, I’d think.
How are they going to get marked?
A sign saying ‘mines’?
Well i guess i am going to find out.
And i have only once died to a random mine like that. They are usualy more a bane to the wheels of my car.

dam still the quick learn noob V.V
is there any way to zoom in/increase the size of the viewport in sdl ascii mode? i dont mind the amount of tiles i see, but i rather have them large
In your config directory you should have fonts.json file. Edit it with a text editor and change the numbers.
Zombie technician just pulled my weapon away being 20 tiles away while I was whacking a zombie. How long range does their disarm have?
What the fuck? XD. If you’re definitely sure it was 20 tiles away, this sounds like a bug and should be reported.
Unless Magneto powers for zombie technicians are intentional.
Disarming is intentional. I do not know which range is though .
Unrelated question: how does battery charging work? I replaced the solar panels and batteries on a generic electric car, along with other repairs; how long should it take to charge up? (It’s about mid-spring.)
Depends how often the weather is ‘Sunny’, I believe. Just pray to the RNG Gods that they will allow your car to be charged. I’m no expert at vehicles though, so someone probably has a more correct/better answer.
It will take a long time to charge storage batteries with normal solar pannels.
Those have 100k charge and solar pannels charge at a speed of 111 energy every check. I think that was per hour if i recall correctly but i can not say for sure.
What i know is that it ll take long. So add more pannels .

Not 100% how many tiles but I was fighting zombie next to road and zombie technician was in middle of the road. I was wondering why my damage suddenly dropped so much. Technician then dropped my reinforced weapon and log also noted that the technician pulled my weapon away
It only charges if the vehicle is in a sunny spot and loaded into memory. Vehicle is loaded into memory when you get near and unloaded when you save the game (including quick/autosave).
Solars charge slowly, so if you want to rely on them, you should add a lot of them. Electric engines are generally worse than gasoline engines, their biggest advantage is how silent they are.
Exact numbers are:
1 solar panel produces 111 epower per turn in sunlight. 1 epower is 1/373 of a single unit of charge. A single car battery is 30000.
So 1 empty car battery would take about 28 hours to get fully charged by a single solar panel constantly in sunlight.
Storage battery is 100k units, so about 93 hours of charging from a single fully utilized solar.
If the solar doesn’t get full light, it scales linearly with available natural light. I recall there once being some sort of lower limit on required light, but now it seems that it can even utilize moonlight.

must not…
