Find the Dielectric Capacitance System CBM. While activated, it protects you from electric shocks
I was thinking of adding some special rubber boots ( very rare ) which would be capable of making the player immune to those shocks, but I guess those 2 options are plenty.
A third option: get a longbow or crossbow and shoot the zombie from outside shock range.
Power armor is also effective at making you immune to electric shocks.
Electric attacks already stretch the suspension of disbelief quite hard. Adding boots that immunize to them would only show how weird the physics are:
Why only those boots? Why not regular rubber boots?
If boots protect from it, why wouldn’t rubber grip/wooden handle on weapons protect from zapback?
Even if you have rubber boots if you get shocked by a very powerfull source you still would suffer damage IRL. I assume shocker zombies and brute deliver quite a punch of electricty therefore special boots and not simple rubber boots. These special boots would be able to transmit even less electricty to the ground and therefore not shock you contrary to regular rubber boots.
The new chainmail suit also makes you immune to electric shock(faraday cage).[quote=“Codeslamer, post:6798, topic:42”]I’ve read all of the traits and i’m pretty sure i don’t have any that do.
Looks like you started mutating towards the elfa/medical mutation line. I would get the radioactive purified quick as since it is on the mutation line-you can mutate towards severe radioactivity.
Also, all types of zombies are unable to target you through a wire fence (or at least used to). Some tactical maneuvering should keep you from getting zapped or spat on.
Is there any way to close slime pit or portal?
No.
I don’t know if slimes can bash walls or anything, but you might be able to enclose the pit in a wooden wall. I also do this with portals, which thankfully only requires eight tiles of wooden wall. I had a character that lived for several seasons with a walled-in portal five map tiles away and she had no problems with it at all. Honestly, I don’t actually know that portals even continue to spawn monsters, or if it just spawned a kreck that was stuck in the walls and kept a flaming eye from spawning or something. (I hear that the specific “tear in reality” tile will continue to spawn nether monsters, though, and I haven’t had the opportunity to try the walling thing with one of those.)
dam that is potentially really useful knowledge. Thanks Allison for that great answer. Can’t wait for a chance to put that to use. O.o oh… or a grind machine. 3 sides walled and a path with lots of caltrops or other non-diminishing traps followed by a 90[sup]o[/sup] or 180[sup]o[/sup] and a final trap or turret. (so anything spawning can’t attack you while you get materials from newly dead)…Wouldn’t work on floating stuff like flaming eye… but turret should be able to finish them off… SOMEONE TEST THIS! …please.
A note: depending upon the size of your slime pit, you may need a shitload of wood (and nails). Don’t be afraid to do something crazy like load a flatbed truck or the like with lumber and drive it out there: for all I know, even that may not be enough.
I wouldn t reccommend sealing of a slime pit. Unless you have fun with the project itself… as it has no real benefit for you .
Slimes are pretty much next to completely harmless and are furthermore a great source of glue.
… I think we should be able to refine slimes to fuel … i mean they looky oily xXD
A single floating eye would wreck the whole thing with its beam.
Dam.
I’m reasonably certain portals don’t currently spawn monsters. My base has a portal two tiles away and I’ve never had an issue after I killed the initial flaming eye spawn.

Slimes are a source of glue? Finally some use for all those blob remains all over the city
Also note that hitting them in melee with metal weapons will give you a shock so in case you try to kill them with melee use non metal weapon.
If you’re melee, using a plain quarterstaff does wonders against shocker types. Especially when coupled with Ninjitsu / Niten ichi ryu.
