which version? you mean the + clothing layer?
What do the colored symbols ( || |. . |\ ) by clothing represent? Size, durability, condition, protection type, layer level?
I’ve spent the last hour searching through the wiki, this forum, and the in-game help with no luck…
It was just added as a feature. They represent the level of damage the piece of clothing has sustained, and they work the same way as health bars: | becomes \ which becomes . So ++ is reinforced, || is normal condition, |\ is slightly damaged, |. is moderately damaged, . is heavily damaged, and … is about to be destroyed.
sigh guess I should update some time…but just too dam lazy
If it helps the current version is like 98% identical to .C since we’ve launched the feature freeze. Think of it like getting the next version early!
Version: 0.B-3413-g33bf2a5 in case you’re still wondering.
Thank you both for the help!
Out of curiosity, how was clothing condition represented before the update? Was it hidden?
yea Ill get to it when Im done with current game. Really liking current character, Jack Rougue started a little OP but less than a year in he is looting second town and dodging around wrecks like a pro on first vehicle I have driven in Cata ever.
Descriptor terms. Reinforced, ripped, torn, shredded, tattered. Which worked well enough, but I was always forgetting the order those last three went in. I prefer the new health bars, it makes it much easier to take in all your gear’s condition with one glance.
^^^^^^ I just keep everything in reinforced condition, even stuff that never gets damaged and first time anything drops below that, and I notice, it gets repaired/ reinforced at first opertunity
Does anything cause fires besides the player?
I was exploring a swamp and found two separate fires. One went out as I approached because it was raining (it was about 15 tiles). The other was raging and kept going because it started snowing I guess, instead of rain.
I’m crossing my fingers for this being like a natural gas fire of, maybe lightening is back : D
As everyone neglected to mention: you can toggle between bars and regular prefixes in the options menu, Interface - “Show item health bars”.
I went into some fungal cloud or something and got some kind of mutation where both of my arms are completely gone. I think it said something along the lines of a spore grows out of your arm or something. Anyways, what can i do about it? Does it just mean that it’s basically game over?
I found the line of text. It said: “message” : “Your hands bulge. Fungus stalks burst through the bulge!”
Its not a mutationnits a dissease generally caused by inhaling spores among other fun causes.
The symptoms are vomiting of spores, pain , shroom tase in your mouth and the ocasional explosion of your arms.
Take anti fungal drugs or royal gelee and heal up your arms afterwards and you ll be fine … if you manage to do that still in your current condition.
If you don’t have the right items (anti-fungal drugs, fungicide, royal jelly or blood filter CBM) it is usually a game over. The fungus bursting will keep your pain so high you’ll always have 25 speed and 0 stats, so anything that can pierce your armor could kill you.
How is it determined if zombie technicians successfully pull away your weapon?
Small strings are really good for training sewing on for they are abundant and more expendable than most cloths
Is it possible to craft modern guns (not flintlocks or improvised guns, stuff like M4A1’s or M9’s) from scratch?
A number from 1-100 is rolled. If it is less than or equal to 100 - (6 * (your str - 6)) - (6 * weapon skill) or your strength < 5 then it pulls the weapon out of your hands.
