Holy hell are triffids ever good eating. Why would I ever go down and destroy the heart? I’m filling the Atomic Death Wagon to the ceiling with dehydrated vegetables.
You’ll destroy that heart after it shoots trees through your nice death wagon and turns it into scrap. Never drive near a Triffid Queen, they’re horrible for that.
Oh indeed, I park some ways off and go in on foot, and always bring real firepower.
If I may ask a question unrelated to actual gameplay…
When was 0.1 released, as that is when I first found the game, and I have no idea when that was.

plant marrow and fluid sac are good for eating but plant marrow is not too good as food source
A completely random (and probably pointless) question: If I use rubber gloves and boots during a melee fight with a shocker, will it actually change anything? I mean, 80% of the shocker melee attacks are shock based (AFAIK), so shouldn’t rubber block off some of the damage from said attacks?
Not yet that I’m aware of. There was a conversation thread about it a while back, and I think its being looked into as some sort of ‘minor reduction’; but they may have tossed that out the window, I 'unno.
It’s something that we (or at least I :P) plan on doing, but it’s not going to go in before .B with the feature freeze that just hit.
No, currently you either have a full protection from electricity or you don’t have any. You can use a non-metal weapon to attack shockers (it has to be fully non-metal like a quarterstaff or tonfa, not just partially like an axe), but to resist their electric blast you need either a bionic or a full-body hazmat suit.
Their regular melee attacks are totally mundane though. It’s only the sparks and zapback that shock you.
It dehydrates well (you need 1 marrow or 3 sacs for 1 dehydrated veggy) and can be used in many recipes. There’s also a ton of them just lying around after a fight with triffids.
Guys I think I dun goofed with mutations.
So I’ve decided I’d like Eater of the Dead, so I can eat the dead. To that end I’ve been trying to cross the rat threshold by injecting myself with every rat serum I can find. Except I’m a munchkin so I save scum to avoid anything particularly bad. Oh and along the way I injected a little lizard serum because whatever, but only a few.
Well sometimes I would seem to break the threshold on injections where I got a lot of bad stuff, but not on good ones. So finally I was just like “screw it” and used debug to give myself dozens of rat serums which I began binge-injecting over the course of days in game. Fifty serums later I had a bunch of random reptile mutations and god knows what else but hadn’t seen anything to make me think I’d broken any thresholds.
Point is, I know my save scumming probably threw something off and that’s fine, whatever, I don’t expect the game to be designed around playing this way. I have enough purifier saved up to make myself normal again, so in the future how should I go about crossing the rat threshold and getting EotD?

You wanna be a particular mutant, aim into that category. Five orals and four serums were enough the last time I tested it. What killed your attempt here was the Lizard stuff. Breaching is basically an X in Y where your X is the strength in the chosen category, and Y is your strength in all categories.
Diversification is NOT your friend if you wish to breach the Threshold.
Thanks, looks like I’ve got a miserable purifier binge ahead.
Once one has EotD, is there any reason to go for Saprovore? It doesn’t seem like it.
I don’t think so, and if EATDEAD doesn’t overlap, that needs fixed anyway.
So, about ten minutes ago, I got my ranger killed with a tank drone (managed to get it damaged to moderately injured in the process). When I looked at the memorial file, I noticed that I became wanted by the police back in the first day.
I’ve never seen this before, is this new? How do I trigger/avoid triggering it? It is an experimental version (4791c41).

Eyebot take your picture? That’s usually how that happens.
I hadn’t encountered an eyebot until the second day, so that wasn’t it…
Tank drones don’t care if you’re wanted by the police or not, they’ll shoot anything they see on sight, live or undead.
Then what does being wanted by the police do?
