Tips, Tricks, and Newb Questions!

Wield it and use “A” it’s slightly quicker.

Will you ever become acclimated to eating human flesh in the same way as getting used to killing zombie children? Or are self-made cannibals just a crapshoot?

No you wont.
Only way to get rid of the moral malus is by mutating down the right path.

Hopefully nothing.
Saves should update just fine, especially from experimental to experimental. That said you might not get the full experience (new zombies and buildings won’t spawn, etc.) until you’ve traveled far enough from your currently known locations that the game is forced to generate new locations.

You made my day.

I really want to know though?

Negative damage just means that you need to have enough STR or other modifiers to make the damage positive before it actually will do anything on attack at all. It certainly doesn’t heal the target.

Well, that was indeed a silly question of mine, i just wanted to know about negative stats, so thanks!

Responding again, because I filled a PR for it: Continuous recipe learning by Coolthulhu · Pull Request #9868 · CleverRaven/Cataclysm-DDA · GitHub

If it gets merged, you’ll be able to read recipe books for all recipes instead of spamming R->[book]->y.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

If I ever need to make a new character or a ton of new recipes are added, then this will be incredibly useful.

With the new “salvaging” system, how is the chance/number of materials determined? Tailoring skill? Because I’ve got 7 Tailoring and I find myself failing to salvage more than one rag from an entire shirt.

In my experience, the new system give a maximun of (volume-1) materials. Because shirt have 2 volume the max. rag you can get is 1. I not sure the actually rate of skill-amount received, but past lvl.3 i received the normal values. Another thing to see is the status of the cloth. Tattered clothes give less materials at all. So is a good idea to reinforce that tattered combat boot with leather so you can receive more kevlar patchs after salvaging.

If something is not clear because my english, don’t be afraid to become a grammar nazi. English is not my native language and i really want to improve.

Activate it when you have an on radio in your inventory, and it tells you which direction the signal’s coming from. Not certain why you’d want to know though given so far all it’s done is take me to radio towers with no loot and nothing to interact with (?)
LMOE shelters also have a transmitter. When we add stashes back they’ll have radio transmitters too.

By stashes, do you mean those little trapped places with supplies or trash?

Low fabrication makes you lose 1 component - starts at 100% chance, then lowers 10% per point and caps at 50%.
Low dexterity makes you lose from 0 to 2 components - a roll of 3d4 is made against your dexterity. If your dexterity is lower, you lose 1d3-1 components.
Item damage affects salvage the most: for every single material not lost yet, there’s a 0.8^damage chance for it to survive. For damage in [0-4] range, that’s 100%, 80%, 64%, 51%, 41%. So if your item is tattered, expect to get less than half of the material back.

So I have the shakes, I’ve had it for 2 days or so, it’s not addiction, I’m reasonably sure it’s not disease, I did have Teleglow but the wiki (not that I should trust it.) said it should’ve worn off after 40-80 turns.

I’d really like to get rid of this before I have to look for food.

The Shakes disease was broken in several months old versions, if you are playing an old experimental it might be that.

Oh, You may have tetanus .

I doubt it’s a old experimental, I got this half a week ago or so.

It’s probably Tetanus, though the shakes is gone now.

Schizophrenic can give Shakes, as does Jittery, and there’s a faulty aug that does it too but it ought to have mentioned the fact.

Tetanus actually shouldn’t be giving the shakes, yeah. That’s debuffs and the occasional knockdown.

is this have feature about eating hot food giving bonus temperature.
it make more sense to drink hot water in winter.
