Tips, Tricks and Newb Questions: Reborn!

I’m mounting a weapon onto my vehicle; it’s a L523-LMG. No issue mounting it normally. However, if I were to add a gunmod to the weapon, it’s no longer mountable. Vehicle menu does not recognize me as having a L523-LMG. Is this behavior intended?

The gunmods I tried were brass catcher and suppressor, but I suspect anything that makes a gun +# would have the same result. Same goes for other weapons.

need the posthreshold or only the tentacles

AFIK it is intended, since it happens too with other recipes, like having an electric forge with the UPS mod , it gets locked for the recipe of a vehicle forge rig, and same with the welders

ok quick question.
If I was to run a cable between a “vehicle” fridge and some solar panels outside, running through a open window. Would it be possible for me to close up that window again without it distrupting the cable I set up between the two “vehicles”?

Secondly, less of a question and more of an inquiry. Would it be possible to create a construction feature that allows you to build a electrical port onto a wall that could act as a connector between a indoors “vehicle” and a outdoors “vehicle”?

Sorry for the second question, just now came to mind.

i Dont think so, since vehicles cant pass through window frames (you need to take them out and only leave a hole on the wall) can be wrong though, and in case im correct and it doesnt work, you can surround the window with vehicle walls something like a horse show to surround your solar panels, or just block the window with the solar panel vehicles car, like if you were moving lockers to block the window

Everything is possible as long as someone wants to code it…

I’m not sure if a cable counts a vehicle or an invisible connector between vehicles, so I’ll have to test that and post how it goes.

Sounds like a worthy challenge, I guess my only question (or concern) is what’s needed to make it work.

Like, will this be as simple as attaching a tag to a new construction object, or a complete restructure on how construction objects work.

Does anyone have any notes on that?

I haven’t tested for windows, but jumper/heavy-duty cables can go through doorways and you can close the doors.

Any of the tentacle arm mutations will work.

I’ve noticed things now have 2 “prices”, one called “price” and another - apparently, recently added - called “barter value”. If they mean what I think they mean, what’s the point of the “price” value nowadays?

Also, could anyone please explain what’s the actual use of the hackPRO USB? I get it, it’s useful, but for what?

It’s part of the recipe for the Control Laptop.

I used to do this by deconstructing a door, laying out the vehicle through the door, then installing a vehicle door in place of the building door.

Do gun stores ever spawn working vending machines? I remember reading something like “save your money for those ammo vending machines”, when I just started playing. Since then I’ve never ever found a single ammo vending machine, just some broken vending machines in gun stores (which don’t even spawn anymore IIRC. Machines, I mean. Not stores ). Were they cut from the game, or was it an idea that wasn’t implemented at all? Or maybe it’s just my bad luck?

Gun Store Vending Machines with ammo are still in last i checked. Found one a month or so ago. They ARE however fairly rare to find with ammo in them.

A few questions

Are wounded/damaged zombies having penalties when fighting? Same questions for living beings. Like wounded mooses and bandits

Do you get penalties fighting with low stamina?

Is stamina spending from weapon 100% linked to action cost? Or is weight also factored? Trying to decide between a zweihander and a wood axe…

Where can I fins a UPS charging station?

  1. No to zombies and other monsters, maybe for bandits and NPCs.
  2. There are pretty big penalties for fighting with low stamina, notably a reduction to your speed - can’t swing as fast. Also makes dodging and blocking much harder. If you’re still fighting at half stamina and have several enemies still left, consider how easy it would be to kill the rest, the possibility of them being reinforced, and avenues of retreat
  3. Weight is also definitely a factor.
  4. You want to recharge the heavy batteries that go into the UPS, UPS is like a converter.

Thanks.

I have an eye icon above my character, what does it means.

A flaming eye stared at you most likely.

There’s a hidden status that can be inflicted by flaming eyes and teleporters. Low levels aren’t terrible but be very careful as there can be some nasty, nasty effects. It largely goes away with time

It sure does go away with time!
And a few hours later, your arms also go away.

I never noticed a Flaming Eye, but perhaps there was one while I was driving with safe mode off.

Is there a cure if I ever become more afflicted by that, or that’s game over?

It goes away eventually.
