Tips, Tricks and Newb Questions: Reborn!

Is there any way to sort weapons by skill used at least semi automatically? I have enough guns that examining each one in the advanced inventory would really take way too long. Is there a filter command like c: but for skill used? Is there a list of available filter categories for filter menus; I’m not even sure if they’re the same across different menu’s you can use filters at.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Yeah, the craft menu filter and the advanced inventory/list items filter have different commands.

Sadly no, the best shot to a QoL is to reassing the letters to your convenience

im getting confused in here, iirc the items dont have a skill requirement to use or wearv them, only to craft. so there is no point in a command like that for the advanced inventory. in the crafting menu you can filter items by skill used, but no for the level required to craft

I believe he means to compare the stats on weapons, and the answer is no there Is no way to sort then based on their stats.

However if you mean which gun is a sub machine gun, handgun or rifle ect. I’d suggest putting them into separated piles.

Is there a reason to not eat food that’s old?

As far as I know, old food is still edible. The old flag just means it’s about to turn rotten, which would then be poisonous to eat.

Yeah, sort items based on which skill is used when firing from them. The problem has really been exacerbated with the fouling mechanics making 5 different stacks of the same gun with slight fouling variation, making the advanced inventory screen even more of a chore to sort through.

At first I wanted to just mend all the guns so they’d all stack on one another, but 300 rags later I am still nowhere near close and it’s probably the most tedious thing in cata so far, only because there is no way to make it not take 5 different prompts per gun just to lube up.

Yeah, fouling is a good addition, but I can

I do, thanks. I found those glowing orbs but every time I picked at it with a pick axe I got nothing. Maybe I gotta smash them instead?

Also I found a nodachi. Should I just continue using this thing or just make and use the gungnir instead?

I’m leaning towards using the spear and then switching over once I find the corresponding martial art book.

I’m not sure of the exact numbers but it seems that you aren’t guaranteed to get Orichalcum upon demolishing the boulder. Just try mining a few more and you should eventually get some to drop.

Took me 20 boulders before i got Orichalcum.

I must of got really lucky then since I got my lump after about 5 or 6 boulders.

my pc broke, so im using an spare one but it has a linux OS, since it doesnt has a launcher like windows, which were the files that needed to be moved to an updated version? more than anything, the settings like keybinds and preferences

config/ and save/

Currently getting use to the new weight/fat system.
Any tips on how to keep track of that?

Before I just fed whenever I got Hungry or peckish status, but that has only left my character marked as Obese, so obviously that’s too much.

A currently I can’t find too much information on how the weight system work. Like how does one keep track without become too fat or too thin?

The casual one meal per breakfast, lunch and dinner, despite what the hunger meter would tell you?
Exersice?
Cybernetic/Mutatious enhancement?

Looking to learn if anyone got any sources that cover this.

Easiest way to keep in shape: don’t eat until you’re Very Hungry - because that status shows not only that your stomach is empty but also that you need calories(i.e. don’t have any stored as fat). Needless to say, you can only become very hungry if you are at normal body weight. Or lower, but that wouldn’t happen if you were overweight before, you’d have to go through normal weight first.
Or try eating some fixed amount of calories each day and see what happens.
Hmm, I wonder if fat accumulation is realistic enough to show on bathroom scales?

Dunno about realism as I achieved obesity in less than a week.
Then again I ain’t no expert on that, so I’m sorry if I’m mistaken.

As for the advice, thanks. This helps point out how I should approach this.

You start with 55k calories stored weight. You need approx. 2k-3k a day (depends on your activity level) to maintain that weight. Mostly you should just be able to ignore messages and eat a few meals a day like a normal person would and your not likely to have any issues.

The messages can be somewhat confusing. Ignore ‘Hungry’ and ‘Peckish’ they have no effect. Check your @ screen for your general bodyweight (normal, overweight, obese). If your bodyweight says overweight or more then feel free to stop eating for awhile (days/weeks/whatever). When you see the message “your stomach feels so empty” that means you are now below 80% of your starting bodyweight. Eat more food until you see ‘overweight’ in the @ screen again.

Basically, just bounce between Overweight and ‘Your Stomach feels so empty’ and you will never have any problems.

Is there any way to get power to a building and fix it up for personal use, or are vehicle-houses the only way to get heating, refrigeration, electric lighting, etc.?

You can get a few buildings that still have the lights on but otherwise you have to set everything up yourself.
