I just got into the game again, I’m trying to make Gungnir since I found a book that detailed a way to actually make the real weapons, problem is, I don’t know where I could find Orichalcum shards or lumps. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Also, I have a lotta lard from hunting down dogs and wolves to make my chimera serum. Anyone know any good places to find canning pots? I want to fill them with large amounts of animal cooking oil since it never spoils.
I don’t know about the Orichalcum but I normally find canning pots in houses, in town or the rural farm/cabin types both. Basically any place you might find a kitchen. Think it’s just up to luck if one spawns or not.
Making drums or barrels might be easier if you’re just using it for storage.
So I have completed final(?) Old Guard mission and the doctor said they’ve made an outpost(?) near “pump station” and that if I find them I could talk to them. The thing is, there’s nothing with a word “pump” in 1000 overmap radius. Is this a thing to be done in future, or it could be randomly generated if I explore further?
Played a bit with latest experimental yesterday, got a couple of questions:
- Zombies no longer seem to drop any loot. Is that intended, or just some weird coincidence?
- Stamina seems to run out much faster when running than it used to. Is that just an overall balance change, or is there some new mechanic at play?
- 'S’mashing a car no longer damages it if the tile in question does not prevent movement. Intended? If so, is there a way to manually damage a car if I want to?
P. S. Regarding question #1: have zombies finally been updated to respect item spawn multiplier? That would explain zero drops, as I play with 0.01
- as fas as I know, if you haven’t been playing for like a year, then yes, there was stamina rebalance so it’s harder to smash’n’slash all day long without getting winded.
- Strange. Maybe your bash damage is too low? Zeds smash the sh*t out of regular cars just fine.
Bash damage is more than enough (high str character.)
The thing is, I’m hitting the ROAD, not the car. Case in point: I want to smash the section of a normal car that has frame and trunk left. I hit the pavement instead.
1 - Zombies that don’t drop loot are ones that have already died and then revived. When they first die all their items drop to the ground and they don’t get picked up again. Then the zombie revives and wanders off to encounter you and die again. There are a few ways zombies can die that don’t involve the player.

Yes, major stamina burn/recovery changes have occurred.

I am able to smash frame/trunk (or any location on a vehicle) with no problem in Build # 10014 (from yesterday).
Those were definitely not “revived” zombies.
Basically, after I killed about 50 Z’s, one of them dropped one piece of clothing.
And then about 1-in-50 from there on also dropped something. So at this point I’m 99% sure that mobs are now effected by item spawn rate. (Great change, really prefer it this way.)
As for car smashing, I double checked and it worked fine this time with basically the same setup. I guess some engine glitch happened last time or something. Or I was just extremely unlucky and rolled 0 damage 200 smashes in a row.
Build 9751 back in October.
That hint is referring to Necropolis, a vault that’s under a town that isn’t named on the map, that is infested with irradiated wanders and a pump station right next to a police station. In said vault there are a group of soldiers that will start another quest chain once you finish the Old Guard one. You may have to go to another overmap if you’re unlucky with map generation.
Hey guys, hopping back into the game after a two-month break. I’m trying to defrost some frozen liquids with a pot and a nearby fire within a stove, but every time I try to use a pot the game says “you don’t have the right type of food to heat up”. Same thing happens with a heatpack. What’s up with this?
Never mind, went looking in github and it’s apparently a reported bug. Hopefully it’s not in the game for much longer, earlygame without a basement to thaw food in is pretty brutal.
I don’t know if you still need Orichalcum or not, but you have a chance to get some by destroying large glowing boulders which can be found in fields.
For some reason I can’t look up or down Z-levels in the current experimental.
Previously you could go into look around mode (x or ; ) and use < and > look up/down an elevation level.
Now you simply can’t. Intended?
How DO I look down from a roof if intended?
do you need to be in the night (like with the sparky fish) or does it have a way to be found in daytime?
I don’t know about any sparkly fish (unless you are referring to the rare blinky fish), but large glowing boulders can be found in the day, no need to search the fields at night.
You also need to turn on the 3D FoV option for that to work.
Is there a way to delete photos off a camera or e-ink tablet? I’ve started a hobby of taking photos of things, but can’t seem to find a way to delete unwanted photos.
Is there a way to sort list of installed CBMs?
