I would recommend a Charcoal Cooker if your main concern is using a wood derivative to craft. If for some reason you specifically need a nearby fire specifically (though the only recipes where that applies is probably clay work) you could keep a single pipe and 60L Metal tank on hand and just build a wood stove when you need it.
How well does a wood stove work outside? Is it going to get put out by the rain, or…?

Wood stoves should work outside in the rain. Unless something changed recently.

ok , i think here has been a misunderstanding, there are recipes that forcefully require a “>nearby fire” (like pointy stick i believe), the problem here comes from that i have mobile base, so if i need to craft something that needs a nearby fire, i have to deploy my brazier and hope there isnt any rain, since rain is kind of OP for fires, even a drizzle stops any kind of fire unless is roofed
I don’t believe there are recipes that can’t substitute fire for a hotplate form a kitchen or chem lab, but if you prefer fire (or just smaller vehicles) you can stick materials for a lean-to in you storage, along with some wood and a light. Use the construction menu to set it up, then you can have fires under the rain, or a makehift shelter for yourself and your rollmat
Yeah, that’s why I recommend the wood stove. It’s the only one I can think of that’s easy to set up, protects the fire from the rain, and breaks down into the same components 100% of the time. Sure it requires nearly 70L of space, but it’s really your only option if you want to set up a fire that’s immune to the rain and can be carried from place to place, even if you have to disassemble and rebuild it every time.

Sorry if this has been asked, but after googling i couldn’t find a lot of documentation on the new mechs that have been added. I found a recon mech in the bottom of a lab and managed to get it back to my base, but it shows as being heavily injured. I don’t want to risk losing it, is there a way for me to repair it? The initial github post said mechs weren’t initially repairable, has that been changed or do i just need to be careful with it. Also, i assume i can’t recharge the military fuel cell it comes loaded with?
I don’t know if this is a bug, but mine repaired itself (from lightly injured to uninjured) by just stocking it behind my mobile base. I didn’t put it in a carrier, btw :3
its the rc car remote control supposed to disappear after the rc car reaching out of range?, after i get the option to what to do with the rc control after getting the rc car a bit far (like 5-10 tiles away)it just dissapears

If I recall correctly, it’s because arrows with steel/iron shafts aren’t really a thing. Metal arrows do exist, in the form of aluminum arrows, but the player cannot craft them because they require equipment that is not available to the player without some setup (e.g. a faction camp workshop).
Does anyone know if a Pine Lean-To contains fires, or just shields them from rain? I threw a brazier on top of it as an extra precaution but I don’t know whether removing it would run the risk of burning the Lean-To down.
Lighting a fire under a pine lean-to without a brazier will just burn it down. I tested it myself a few weeks ago and started a Forest Fire. So I’m 100% certain.
I was just wondering does disassembling bots like police bots give you anything worthwhile without the jury rigged robots mod? I mean super alloy is nice but do the android arms or the ai modules come in handy?
You need them for building your own turrets and robots. The recipes are rare, but disassembling a few to figure them out works.
Ah nice disassembling police bot takes 2 hours so wasnt gonna disassemble all of them without reason.
