Tips, Tricks and Newb Questions: Reborn!

That bug should’ve been fixed since build #8748. Just update to the latest and it should be fine.

Nice, get to learn something and know how to use something, thanks dude.

I harvested coffee pods. I can’t seem to do anything useful with them though. Am I missing something, like a recipe book?

No, it looks like the recipe was never implemented. Also, they’re a different kind of coffee tree, so would likely be a different kind of coffee.

I always assumed it was some hybridized variant of the Kentucky coffee tree (since I can’t think of any coffee trees native to New England) in which case they’re roasted similar to the Arabica.

The main difference being that unroasted seeds are very poisonous in a coffee tree. Off the top of my head I can’t think of any major differences in their preparation though.

Apparently this is not a bug? I don’t think it’s so horribly unrealistic to just allow it to make coffee, even if it’s just traditionally a coffee substitute. It’s cleaner than having another alternate liquid for the exact same effect. It’s better to have content with a purpose that’s minorly unrealistic than to have a useless item but stick to realism

A decent work around that would maintain realism would be to use a quern or mortar and pestle to grind the roasted coffee beans into coffee powder. I thought that was already how it worked though.

Anyone know a good way to make anesthetic kits, kinda in a rut for having really good cbms but no anesthetic kits, and making them is pretty damn expensive too

Which part specifically are you having trouble with? Presumably ether since I think either it or some of its parts require like 6 or 7 cooking.

Ether and medicine mainly

Anyways, does anyone know the requirements for installing a wheel?
I play the android version and can’t really see most of the things that PC can, and for the wheel I only see “Tool of lifting 2 or more” and “17” wheel".
But still can’t install it

pretty sure you’ll need jacking if your vehicle is of any substancial weight

I have the answer to your first question. Unfortunately it is very long and currently awaiting moderator approval. Stay strong.

Its funny but everytime I’ve been mass producing anesthetic kits, my big road block was always getting enough 3L glass jars, the books for ether/heroin just seem more common for me. Ethanol You can get from strong alcohol mix, one of the best place for getting ingredients for that is raiding mansions and acid you can craft up from salt and water. From there you can craft your own ether.

You can also use poppy painkiller which the ingredients aren’t too hard to get either.

You can also craft your own vodka up from wood, salt, water and yeast (and you should get the yeast back)

Why you gotta ninja my incredibly long, complicated post like that?

And now I feel bad cos I half arsed it so much :stuck_out_tongue:

So for ether you need ethanol and acid. Acid is easy to make with salt water, so find a swamp and post up to make acid water, then boil that for concentrated acid. Easy peasy.

Ethanol is a bitch and a half on the other hand. You’re going to need a brewing book for sure since ether is a distillation of alcohol. Unfortunately you will also need a thermometer which is strangely difficult to find and also impossible to craft. And whatever alcohol you can find/craft en masse since most can be distilled into ethanol the only thing that matters is what is the easiest for you to get. Oftentimes this will be moonshine (buckwheat or cornmeal), fruit wine (just gallons and gallons of fruit juice, however you can get it.), or vodka (sugar straight up)

Easiest of these imo is vodka. You can make sugar with sticks and acid at cooking level 7, which you should already have if you’re going to be attempt to bootstrap anasthesia kits, so once again, post up in a swamp, make acid, fell trees, ruin the world.

For the medicine itself poppy painkiller is the easiest to craft, and unfortunately the only way to do that is to walk around fields gathering poppies by hand.

Late to your question, but there’s also a head gear item called “Shooter’s earmuffs” (I think don’t hold me to the name) that allows normal hearing until sound reaches a high enough decibel to activate the noise cancelation.

Runs on batteries, but they’re damn helpful when using fire arms. Especially in a lab.

Do hostile turrets have infinite ammo?

No, every now and again you’ll see turrets getting mobbed by zombies after they run out of ammo. Same with robots too, I’m not sure I’d want to count on it in most situations though, they’ll make a lot of noise firing all that ammo.
