Found it - Boat Tutorial. It is nearly a year old but still ought to be helpful. Too bad the guy seems to have stopped uploading vids. I was enjoying his series.

Are there any Nanofabricator templates that don’t work? I had a template for RM13 combat armor but the fabricator said it didn’t have the materials (180) needed, even though I had it right next to me.

I made a quantum solar panel instead.

How do you activate an explosive with a radio activation mod attached? I want to make sure I’m both not holding it when I activate it and that it actually activates when I want it to. Is it as simple as just using a radio when you want it to detonate?

Edit: Did some research and found that I need an RC controller.

I can truthfully tell you that a year old boat tutorial is hilarious out of date and will be full of bad advice. I know, I wrote the revisions to the vehicle code that substantially changed how boats work.

As far as I know, the most accurate and up to date information on vehicle design and boats in specific is the “Vehicle and Driving” section of the game’s main menu “Help” option. I wrote it a couple of weeks ago; I don’t think anyone understands how boats work in CDDA better than I do but am prepared to be corrected about that.

Are research labs supposed to lock you into their elevator areas? Am currently having to raid the lab underneath the reasearch lab right now because I was locked in…

Do I have to find replacement wheels or is there an easier way to repair wheels?

Im in a partially cleared military outpost and lost all wheels because of the caltrops and nailboards I drove over accidentally

You need mechanics skill to repair or install new tires.
Changing them is quick and easy. ‘c’ key on the vehicle screen. Bring a jack.

Is it possible to find an enormous horde of zombies in the middle of nowhere? My experience tells me that only tiny hordes spawn in rural areas

Usually you’re correct, but occasionally they condensed into larger hordes. From my understanding at least, I’ve occasionally found good sized hordes in fields several hours out from anywhere else.

You will not drop it when you drop everything in the AIM menu, you will get a prompt if you try to eat it with your internal furnace CBM. It’s a way to mark the items you carry everyday.

I recently cleared out a science lab with few problems. I see a research lab nearby–are there any dangers in a research lab that I should perhaps familiarize myself with before heading inside?

nope, acutally i feel like it is a toned down version from a lab, the difference is the research facility has more of tools and crafting components (on the higher levels) with a lot more (but easy) zombies, and a normal lab on the underground (with only one level i think)
