Tanning hides

Just picked up some raw pelts and was wondering how to tan them. I don’t see any tool, and I can’t urinate on them per my understanding of old time methods. Any information is appreciated.

(sorry if this has been answered, but I did a forum search and didn’t see an answer)

You can cut fur pieces with a knife to turn them into leather.

Rivet with the new feature.

First you have to scrape 'em (takes a cutting utensil and some salt), then a mess of either woods stuff or chemistry to start the tanning process. The basic recipes are autolearn at Survival 3 or so, and the advanced ones are in chemistry and leatherworking books.

Pelts can be shaved down to hides once scraped, FWIW.

Thanks for the quick response, will need to get a little more survival then.

Ha, seems like i’m not keeping up with the times.

I must be getting old.
