Starting mutations and purifier syrum

if I have a character who starts the game with lots of mutations already and I take a purifier serum will it only get rid of the new mutations that I receive after the game starts or will it get rid of all of the mutations even the ones I took it character creation?

It will purify you back to starting mutations. You can get mutations that cancel out original ones.
